It was drowning though, might've been an accident, but i didn't follow that so I'm not sure.
It's kinda wrong to keep whales in captivity because of their size, i think it's perfectly fine for smaller animals though, those can have plenty of room even while in captivity.

If you keep your dog or cat in its crate for its entire life until it's time to bring it out to show friends, then yes you need to have it taken from you.

Not really. If you visit a lot of these theme parks, even smaller animals have absolutely no room in comparison to the amount of water they'd cover in nature.
Went to Queensland recently with my boyfriend and his family. They all went off to SeaWorld, but we didn't because we didn't want to support it. His grandmother was like, "You should have seen the dolphins! They were so happy; you could see it - they were smiling the entire time!"
The fact that their faces are built like that didn't seem to occur to her.
