There is no difference, at all, between the two.
Completely different distribution, different services, different cultures somewhat (PC gaming has greater emphasis on customization and modding), different expectations, different hardware means different games (how many RTSs do you see do console well?)
MOST games on the market are cross console.
You have to be a special kind of fucking idiot to deny this.
And the PC versions that aren't just ports almost always have more options, and mod support is always expected
I upped my backing for it a few days ago. Really is a shame it isn't getting more support. Allen himself has been listening to a lot of feedback on the forums, the only worry is that it might be too late :(
Well the 60% of console gamers, probably. But that's only because most of the people who play are in fact, little kids and br0 "hardcore" gamers. These are people who buy games tat don't actually require tactics or deep story or shit. People who simply think that using the terms "recoil" and "damage" actually make them knowledgeable.
The other 40% are in fact smart people who do play any game no matter what the genre because they know what makes a good game.

That's not what my point is, yeah, you have different distribution, (services?), etc. That doesnt' change the fact that the content is the same. You, a PC gamer, play video games like a console gamer.
Consoles have a casual gamer market.
And PC has a casual gamer market.
Method of playing doesn't mean jack shit.
I really hope this succeeds. It's about time indies take control of the market.
I'd rather not.
I didn't know this game was an old school SHOOTER.
Sounded like he was referencing this chain of posts:

PC games have their exclusives plus the fluff of modding, and the consoles all have wonderful exclusives. PS3 has Heavy Rain, Xbox has Gears of War, Wii has something or other.
So to generalise and say "PC games are always completely different and consoles are all shit and only have modern warfare" is fucking retarded.
I don't think it's saying they're objectively more stupid, only that they tend to prefer games that don't require too much thinking. They prefer fast-paced action games, rather than games that you have to plan before you act. So a game like this would sell bad on console, because it would be too complicated to appeal to most console gamers.
I'll agree if it's the case of shooters, not the fighting games however, the fighting games require a lot of thinking on consoles.

Unless you're playing a Shoto.
down-forward-punch, rinse and repeat.

Ah, I used to have difficulty with them, but I realized that they're predictable and easy to beat. Besides SF4, what do you think of games like Tekken, KoF, Blazblue, or DoA?

Can't say I have too much experience. SSF4 was my first, probably getting MvC3 soon (seriously Capcom, DEMO!) and/or SFxT, not sure yet.
Then again, my previous post was speaking from my VERY BRIEF online experience so don't think too much of it.
Pretty sure Skyrim takes an ounce of thought to play and it was pretty big on consoles.

Not putting down Skyrim, as it was great, but it was quite a bit simpler than its ancestors.
This is the post of a person who has never been near MW3.

You do realise, the games being made for Console are effectively the same market for PC and vice versa, right?
There is no difference, at all, between the two.
...really?
Like, are you really saying that?
So, you have mods on the consoles, options to set the graphics higher and lower, same graphics and overall quality...
And when I say this I don't count the god awful ports. But most games actually look increadibly different on a PC and on a console.
And its funny because Usernameztaken is actually right. Mw3 can be fun, but every title before it is twice (if not more) better than it in every way.

Oblivion did fairly good on consoles too.

Well to be perfectly fair, this is a modified quake engine as well.

But the issue has less to do with the engine itself and more to do with the lack of overall improvements that they've made to the call of duty games over the years.

Steam, Xbox LIVE, etc.
This kickstarter isn't doing nearly as well unfortunately as the others, hopefully he can make the goal in the last half of their time limit though.
I'd rather have a new SWAT game than a military themed game, ghost recon wasn't ever really that interesting to me.

What's wrong with indie developers becoming more noticeable? Most of them are people who really, really enjoy game development, but don't have the skillset or experience required by the big developers. They tend to be quite imaginative, only bound by their community at worst, as they don't have shareholders breathing down their necks to create another generic modern FPS to mass market.
To be fair, when you realize that CoD is selling so well on consoles...
Because most console gamers are poor.
And when you're poor, chances that you are going to get a decent education is slim.
Most console gamers buy consoles for the affordability.
