Probably because if the dead dudes parents wanted a funeral, they wouldn't want to scoop up the pieces.
It's use on a living target is considered inhumane. Which, when you think about it, would be. It's like shooting a hammer out of a sniper rifle.
I swear all these bayonet charges seem to be made by men from the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. I suggest the entire regiment be awarded short swords for their recent acts of bravery. [editline]09:26PM[/editline]
This is one isolated event, you can hardly make such a bold statement off this. Have you ever tried firing a gun with a fucking knife stuck on the end? Or more importantly, tried stabbing someone with an even bigger gun stuck to your knife?
Considering that it's the SA80, it kinda balances out. Not too long or short, plus the centre of gravity is excellent.
SA80 are horrible to jamming, they're generally crap.
I wonder what that taliban guy was thinking when he saw Adamson charging him...
Probablys something like "lol moron whats th- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
Where's Bean-O when you need him?
Where's Bean-O when you need him?
Inventing a new gun so that his thread gets more content.
SA80 are horrible to jamming, they're generally crap.
I believe you'll find that's what the bayonet is for. :smug:
I believe you'll find that's what the bayonet is for. :smug:
The gun isn't used to shoot people with. It's the length used for the bayonet.
Did he send him a message saying "Look behind you" first?
SA80 are horrible to jamming, they're generally crap.
They are not horrible for jamming you nonce.
They are not horrible for jamming you nonce.
Yes they are, they fire them all the time up the range here when they have the army down.
It was during the Gulf War in 1991 that the mainstream press became aware of the malfunctions, jamming and reliability problems that the SA80 was prone to, including, apparently, a tendency to fire if dropped or struck on the muzzle.
http://www.angelfire.com/art/enchanter/SA80.html They have gone under tons of modifications over the years to sort the problems, but even in Afghanistan there are loads of reports of malfunctions and jamming.
They have gone under tons of modifications over the years to sort the problems, but even in Afghanistan there are loads of reports of malfunctions and jamming.
You mean like any modern first world firearm?
You mean like any modern first world firearm?
They are like the Tommy gun of modern assault rifles.
They are like the Tommy gun of modern assault rifles.
So they are Crap, Too Heavy, and overall useless?
If you run out of ammunition, which do you think is more deadly? A sharp bayonet or a blunt gun barrel?
A blunt gun stock can easily break your neck
A blunt gun stock can easily break your neck
To swing the stock on the gun at some requires you to either A), flip the gun around and swing it like a bat, which takes some time, or B) get right up in there face and smack them while holding it correctly. With a bayonet, you need do either. You just keep the gun held properly, and you have a good few feet away from the person.
I don't agree with our actions in the Middle East, but this is fucking awesome. Seriously, try making any other soldier bayonette charge an assault rifle-wielding enemy. This proves we had, have, and always will have the best army.
Contrary to what you see in video games, infantry aren't issued sidearms usually. The reason being is that Your rifle gets the job done a thousand times better, and that a pistol is just extra weight and space that could've been utilized for another magazine or greande. If they ever came across a situation where a pistol was actually "needed" (confined space like a crawlspace or tunnel for example) officers and occasionally NCOs are issued a pistol.
Every British Infantryman is issued a Sig 9mm Pistol for self-defense. But a Bayonet is so much more awesome.
i wonder what that taliban guy was thinking when he saw adamson charging him...
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- But seriously, that guy has balls.
America only handles small island countries like Grenada.
I meant about having the best military force.
I meant about having the best military force.
lets NOT go there
where da sidearm pistol yo
Unlike Call of Duty, real soldiers generally DON'T GET SIDEARMS.
lets NOT go there
I'm not being biased, but Technically US is ranked number one.
I'm not being biased, but Technically US is ranked number one.
god damn you cunt I said NOT TO GO THERE
god damn you cunt I said NOT TO GO THERE
I made sure people noticed the "technically", that way it's not like saying "America is the best, you all suck". Don't worry, people are civilized.
I made sure people noticed the "technically", that way it's not like saying "America is the best, you all suck". Don't worry, people are civilized.
"Techinally" america the most obese country in the world. But tell any american that and 9/10 times they'll say "yeah but britain's second" If he says don't go there, don't try and justify it with using "technically" And for the record, being number one doesn't mean they're the best trained soldiers, just means you pour more money into it.
Yes they are, they fire them all the time up the range here when they have the army down.
I've fired it at the range, it didn't jam for anyone. Money =/= Training.
