while were at it why not give the soldiers every kind of weapon imagineable then they will be super soldiers?
This guy got real balls.
He's from the Isle of Man?
I bet the whole island turns out for a celebration party, all seven of them.
america is the best country in the world end of discussion
That's very true...because we all know how well they did in Vietnam and Korea.
I'm sure in that situation most people here would fumble around to reload instead of charge and stab someone with a bayonet...and probably be shot while playing with the thing.
Soldiers everywhere do brave things. I remember seeing a video of a trooper getting into an ammo truck to drive it away from an ammo truck next to it that was on fire. There was the young american who shielded his squad from a grenade by jumping on it.
Iraq and Afghanistan are full of people who do things to save lives every day. These people deserve medals for doing things that many would balk at.

and we all know how we saved everyones ass in ww1 and ww2
if it wasn't for us, you'd be speaking nazi, then we'd have to kill you
and if this thread was about an American soldier you'd all be calling him a murderer.
america is the best country in the world end of discussion
get out, it's people like you that give us a bad name.
as is expected by a british soldier, us germans treated them with respect and still do
can't say i'd expekt the same thing out of a pig ( i mean the american)
nice spelling there Adolf, don't you have another world war to loose?
and if this thread was about an American soldier you'd all be calling him a murderer.

That's because America is only over in the Middle East to murder and take oil. We're only over there because your troops couldn't fight them yourselves, so you called us over there and told us they were terrorists.
Damn you UN and your forced alliance assistance obligations.

yep cause Afghanistan is so rich in oil and all, ignorant prick.
oh yeah I forgot that the reason everyone in the US military enlists is to murder little arab babies,
I'm also 100% sure that you've met every single American soldier and do know for a fact they can't fight for themselves, you also obviously know everything about the united states as whole what with all the time you've spent here right?
by your logic the British soldiers are all simply murderers themselves, what with killing the innocent Taliban and all that stuff right? my god you disgust me praising such a murderous bastard! evil evil evil!
also you've really got no room to talk about not being able to "fight for yourself", you know why that is and I won't get into it now.

Why do you have to go there.
The British soldiers get into bayonet situations quite a lot in Afghanistan. The soldiers need more ammo.
I disagree, we need less ammo and bigger mother fucking bayonets!
chavs stab people all the time
Can we avoid shitting up the thread with arguments over which country is better?
nope because someone will always mention how America is fat dumb and evil.
He's from the Isle of Man?

On TT bikes.
What I want to know is, how much ammo do they give to each soldier?
He said he used ALL of his ammo on ONE guy. Either he's a bad shot or they ration the bullets to shit.
As I said, he probably depleted his magazine and his situation may have permitted the use of the bayonet
Except it all goes to moot when the SA80 is a "prototype Rolls-Royce" (at least in its early models)
Yeah, I'm just saying that the British Army's vehicle crews use the SA80 because it's as short as the M4 and even then has a longer barrel. It's a shit weapon, yes, but I doubt to the extent people are making it out to be, especially with the newer updates

Don't jump to conclusions, some ignorant twats would but most people would praise him all the same if it was an ANA soldier
Me friend's dad was in the Rangers back in the Gulf Wars, he was the first to go in when they cleared rooms and he killed a man with his combat knife.
He said it was the worst thing he has ever done in his life, and he still loses sleep because of it.
I thought the SA80 got better after H&K reworked it
I thought the SA80 got better after H&K reworked it
It did, the people in this thread who are saying otherwise are talking out of their asses.
uhhh
He said he ran out of ammunition after killing one man, so charged the second.
am i the only one who doesnt think he deserves a medal for running out of ammo killing one man
it only takes 1 or 2 bullets not a whole fuckin clip

It's called suppressing fire.

I guess with the bayonet attached to the rifle it wouldn't be so bad as, especially because it probably helps kill them quicker. Why he's so affected by that will probably also have been affected by a lot more factors, which I'm not sure of because I'm not a psychologist.
I thought the SA80 got better after H&K reworked it
Yeah, it did, way less jams apparently, and they changed the mag release so they didn't keep falling out.
I remember on some show Jeremy Clarkson did an exercise with the British Army and the mag fell out of his rifle too :v:

You know no other details of the contact other than the fact that he ran out of ammo and killed two Taliban;
It's called suppressing fire.
That or he could've depleted most or all of his mag on other combatants. Think before you bloody speak
EDIT: Oh yes, and the correct term is 'Mag' or Magazine, not 'Clip'

by ran out of ammo that can mean he used up his mag and didn't have time to reload, pretty sure that's the case here.
I didn't know Brits still used bayonets. Great work on his part.
this isn't cod, regular infantry soldiers don't carry side arms
Depends on the country in question. Canadian Forces personal almost always are issued a side arm along with the standard assault rifle.
It did, the people in this thread who are saying otherwise are talking out of their asses.
No u.

While we are confident in our own military abilities, we are pragmatic enough to have a bit of kit on us just in case.
