No, that was the Americans a few other non-NATO countries that provided support and as the last few posters have said, the Soviets were fighting the mujahedeen, not the Afghan communist government.

You do realize the Insurgents aren't the only ones killing, right?

US troops have fired on crowds of civilians, bombed villages, commited all kinds of cruel acts in the Middle East.

Plus, it's war. Casualties are inevitable. I meant this thread to be informative and unbiased, and a "RIP"-style comment for BOTH sides, Insurgent and Coalition.
