...so every time someone menstruates in Arizona it's a crime? Seeing as the life of a child begins when the egg is created.
yeah it's just i don't see how reducing the window for abortions by two weeks leads to "appreciating human life and understanding the implications of having sex and conceiving a child." unless you're just against people fucking, which in case i'd suggest to get the fuck over it because you've had thousands of years to get used to the concept of people fucking.
anti-abortionism and the arguments made in favor of it are incredibly asinine
Good; I don't personally care but people need to start appreciating human life and understanding the implications of having sex and conceiving a child.
i know how you feel mate. i wish your parents had thought about the implications of having sex too
i was ashamed to live in this state before, but this just takes the cake
Good; I don't personally care but people need to start appreciating human life and understanding the implications of having sex and conceiving a child.
I agree with you in the sense that people need to understand the repercussions of having a child. However, this is entirely the wrong way to go about it. Show some stats about how much a child costs to raise, demonstrate how to correctly put on a condom, and show the possible routes to take in the case that someone does become pregnant. Don't make it as one sided as:
"The third bill requires that schools teach students that adoption and birth are the most acceptable outcomes for an unwanted pregnancy."
Especially don't make pregnancy something it isn't, either. As in "Two weeks before conception."
I find it funny how republicans are always complaining about big government, and then they push through bills that force people to live by their standards.
This may seem extreme... but someone nuke Arizona right now I don't want the crazy shit they come up with spreading to where I live, it's like a sexually transmitted disease. I get pregnant, I'm getting an abortion. If these guys will let me do it, or if I have to stick a hanger up there myself. So they can get their ideas out of my business. Edit:
...so every time someone menstruates in Arizona it's a crime? Seeing as the life of a child begins when the egg is created.
When the egg is released. Eggs are created in the female before she is even born... although they could always try that as their next law.
Does this mean that if I think some guy's gonna get his wife pregnant in two weeks, and I think he'll have fucking terrible children I get to cut his nuts off? [editline]25th April 2012[/editline]
i was ashamed to live in this state before, but this just takes the cake
I feel ya bro, come down to Tucson where the sane ones are :) We actually care about people's rights down here.
Clearly this is how the story of Jesus began. They just had tough anti-abortion laws in Bethlehem and Mary was pregnant two weeks before she had sex with Joseph.
Arizona is just edgy and forward-thinking, and the rest of the world hasn't caught up to it's magnificent way of thought and legislation, which explains all the criticism.
I'm finding more reasons to hate my state every few days.
Good; I don't personally care but people need to start appreciating human life and understanding the implications of having sex and conceiving a child.
It isn't a "human" life until 3 months in(I think it's 3 months), until then it's just a bunch of cells. Do you grieve for every skin cell of yours that dies? Not to mention you aren't taking into account rape and of course, ignorance, unwanted pregnancy doesn't come solely from people not caring as you seem to be putting it, it's not really the teens fault if their parents are afraid to talk to them about safe sex or just sex in general before it's too late. Ignorance is the biggest problem here.
Gotta love my state.
I find it so funny how the republitards have used "Women's Rights" and "Freedom" as justification for going to war.... and then they smash those concepts in with a sledgehammer on the home front. The hypocrisy is amazing.
Wouldn't this make condoms and other contraceptives abortions?
This hasn't passed the state senate yet, and I pray it won't. There's just... no way it will pass! and even if it does pass, it'll get challenged in supreme court and shot down there. ...Right?
How does this even logically make sense. I mean, for fucks sake, the definition of pregnancy preg·nant adjective 1. having a child or other offspring developing in the body; with child or young, as a woman or female mammal. An egg is not developing, it's just there, nothing, until she gets boned and spooged in, and that egg starts splitting up.
Arizona is just edgy and forward-thinking, and the rest of the world hasn't caught up to it's magnificent way of thought and legislation, which explains all the criticism.
"We're so far into the future, we prevent abortion before there's actually a baby!" it's like Minority Report but with babies and eggs and all kinds of wrong
Good; I don't personally care but people need to start appreciating human life and understanding the implications of having sex and conceiving a child.
lol did you even pass high school I value human life but life can be cruel. If a woman was raped / incest was involved / she'll die from birth IMHO an abortion should be fully legal.
So then technically, every period a woman has, is an abortion, according to these idiots
AKA all woman are now SERIAL KILLERS
I find it so funny how the republitards have used "Women's Rights" and "Freedom" as justification for going to war.... and then they smash those concepts in with a sledgehammer on the home front. The hypocrisy is amazing.
Heres an idea: Lets make it so only women can pass laws about women, so long as it doesn't make them in a better position than men because obviously men are too stupid to make any decision regarding a vagina
Life starts when the parents first make eye contact. I mean, while where making arbitrary decisions about when life begins...
I believe life started millions of years ago and is a ongoing process.
I believe life started millions of years ago and is a ongoing process.
Is that a George Carlin reference? Props if so. OT: This law is so far beyond insane that I find it difficult to believe that functioning human beings not only devised it but went so far as to pass it. I just...there is no rational justification that could EVER be used to defend this.
I get pregnant, I'm getting an abortion. If these guys will let me do it, or if I have to stick a hanger up there myself.
i wish female empowerment didn't involve potentially maiming yourself with a coat hanger.
I hope this means they have time travel because that'd be rad as hell "TIME TRAVELING FETUS POLICE"
Does this mean women are considered to have an abortion when they're on their period? This is stupid. The human body was not designed to make every egg/sperm count, hence why females are born with thousands (millions?) of eggs and males produce millions of sperm weekly.
MENSTRUATION IS MURDER
So does this mean I am constantly pregnant or that I am pregnant over and over again? Either way the idea seriously creeps me out. It also makes no sense whatsoever.
Sigh. One more leap backwards. When will the right realize just how fucking wacko it has gotten in recent years and tone it down a lot?
Good; I don't personally care but people need to start appreciating human life and understanding the implications of having sex and conceiving a child.
It's not the state's place to do that. Also, there's plenty of perfectly legit reasons for an unwanted child to be concieved. Rape, failed condom, failed pill, there's three right there.
I find the law protecting doctors that don't disclose information due to "risk" of abortion much more outrageous. This is really just another way to shorten the timespan where you can yet an abortion, and while that's not very nice in itself, the other thing is just insane.

It wreaks havoc on a woman's body, and someone who isn't going to be dealing with that doesn't get to have a goddamn opinion about it. And I mean that in an individual sense, not as in gender. It doesn't fucking matter if you CAN carry a child, unless you ARE carrying the specific child in question in your own body, you don't get to have a fucking say.
