That's pretty sadding, to be honest.
Heard it through Vinny during his charity stream. The impact was real, man.
Me too. I didn't believe it at first, but so far the evidence is strong. It was just unexpected, 55 is too young.
RIP Iwata.
He was one of the few people in the gaming industry who had morals. He didn't focus directly on money when it came to making games. His main focus was fun, and that's something a lot of people should seriously take note of when getting into the industry. Fun.
RIP, Mr. Iwata. RIP.
He always downplayed his condition, which makes me think he didn't want people to worry for him.
May he rest in peace.
This is terrible....we lost a visionary today. His impact is never going to fade.
wow. that is pretty sad. wonder how nintendo will pay homage

/v/ is playing a very special song
Didn't know its been nearly 2 years since Yamuchi died. That feels like yesterday.
Who else cool at Nintendo is gonna go far too soon? Not to say Yamuchi's death was too soon, dude was 85.
Truly a big impact, rest in peace, Mr.Iwata.
Damn.
It sucks cause he was a fun dude what with all the direct and digital event stuff he did. He genuinely loved his job and Nintendo.
Hopefully the next president will be more like him and not another boring suit with no personality.
A man that truly impacted the gaming industry for the better.
I thought he was getting better too...
This is upsetting.
Man, 2015 has not been a kind year. We've lost Monty Oum back in February, and now Iwata in July.
Rest in Peace, you creative geniuses.
55 is much too young, especially for a guy like him. Rest in peace.
posting about how sad i am to hear this, rather than just rating the first post friendly, then fucking off from the thread
woah holy fuck that was out of the blue
I wonder whats gonna happen for the next direct.
This is a huge bummer. Rest in peace Iwata.
I can't help but wonder, what happens now? Is anything going to change at Nintendo after this? Is the next CEO going to be as charming as him?
I have no words for how sad this makes me. I knew something like this would happen, but I didn't expect it to be so soon. RIP Mr. Iwata.
Dude was a filthy good programmer to boot.
www.nintendo.co.jp is down for me right now.
The website must be completely flooded.
I was actually watching an older Nintendo Direct video with Iwata in it when I saw the headline, made me do a double take. I actually feel pretty bummed out...
-Edit-
The site came back up just as I posted this, I just wanted to see if they had a tribute or something on the site.
And here he was apologizing for the pointless spergrage over the 'bad E3' and Federation Force before his passing.
Absolutely heartbreaking. He was such a good guy. The fact that he took a salary cut so nobody else had to when the Wii U was struggling just goes to show how genuine of a person he was.
I never played many Nintendo games, and none that Iwata made himself, but this is terrible news.
He was a great man who steered Nintendo on the right path on numerous occasions, I hope whoever the new CEO is that they can direct the company along the path that Iwata would have liked for it.

We're gonna miss ya buddy
Iwata was one of the best presidents I've known. It's hard to explain to others why you're so torn up about someone you never even met, but, when you see his passion for games, his love for the people he made them for, and the fun that went into them, it tears your heart to see someone so good just die like this. I can only hope his successor follows the values he put forward.
this just knocked the wind out of me, damn.
They're doing that shit already? So damn unnecessary and distasteful..
That's what hurts the most. The man's final days was seeing the entire industry turn against his company, calling the Wii U a failure and him a relic that needs to leave, and I've even seen people celebrating that we can go back to the "non-Wii days." It's not fair that that's the end he gets with the legacy he built up.
Thank you for everything, Iwata-sama.
