Iwata was only 55, too. What a horrible disease.
Rest in peace, Mr. Satoru Iwata. You've enriched so many people's lives and you've done so many great things; you deserved better.
There's nothing any of us could say that would be enough.
Wow, I had no idea at all that he was ill. Most of my first games were from Nintendo, and Earthbound is hands down my favorite RPG. Even though I don't play Nintendo games as much anymore, I still loved seeing their conferences and kept up a little. Always sparked something inside that just felt genuinely fun, no catches, no gimmicks.
Very unexpected and sad to hear. R.I.P Iwata-San.
-for fuck's sake I should've read the thread-
No!
He's not dead, he's still got a couple lives yet right guys?
Guys?...
What a great thing to wake up to. I hadn't cried in so long I even forgot how crying worked.

This is what finally made me break down sobbing.
Damn it...
Fucking hell, am I dreaming? This guy has been partially responsible for some of the best moments of my childhood, this is absolutely tragic.
Jesus christ, 55. Rest in peace, you magnificent bastard.
Holy shit the music on /v/ hits hard. I'm not a very big fan of nintendo, but he was a good person and it's very sad to see someone go at 55 years, rest in peace.
Damn this is a huge hit to me being a Nintendo fan. It's always so sad to see someone who was so enthusiastic about gaming go. I just hope that whoever takes over will have the same mindset that games need to be fun. I can only hope that games from Nintendo will still have the same quality and fun factor.
I never really played nintendo games, but losing a life is still a terrible thing regardless. Rest in peace, old man.

Here's to a man who I am afraid to compliment because I know anything I'd say would be an inadequate tribute to his legacy. You brought so much to gaming and to the people who grew up with it, while your departure from this world is tragic to many, the contributions you left in your wake stay with us, and in your passing their names now become yours. It's a sad thing to see you go in such a way, but while you may have passed on, your legacy remains, and the meaning of that shall never be forgotten. One life touches another, rippling out around them, and yours has been one that continues to ripple across the entire world, as one's life continues this is known as a reputation, after that it becomes a legacy. Rest in peace Iwata-san, and know that your legacy lives on, in your creations, and the joy and inspiration that they will continue to bring for generations to come.

The feels. :(
It's been over half a day since I've read the news, but I just still can't believe that Satoru fucking Iwata is dead. It still hasn't sunk in, this all feels like a dream. Like, the shittiest dream ever.
Rest in peace Iwata, you were a great man who left behind a greater legacy.
Not a big fan of Nintendo but shit man, rest in peace and fuck cancer. Lost my grandmother to it just a little more than a month ago.

Nintendo World in NYC is remembering Mr. Iwata.
This is depressing. It seems that a lot of amazing people are dying this year.
Rest in peace, Mr. Iwata.
I had no idea how much this guy has done for gaming/Nintendo until now, damn. Shitty news.
