I thought it was a great movie. Much better than avatar
Why does everyone mention Avatar when talking about The Hurt Locker, Jesus Christ.
I've noticed this on 4chan's /tv/ board. They all look like babies shouting "WAA WAAA AT LEAST IT WAS BETTER THAN AVATAR" (Which it wasn't, IMHO). Oh well at least it's only on /tv/.
Thanks for posting my personal information on Facepunch, VLN.
Rated you dumb.
ITT: Chronic pirates berate a really good piece of cinema because they are pissed that a guy got annoyed about how people are stealing his under-selling film.
Making a profit that is threefold your original budget is hardly under-selling.
Just because Avatar (sorry Eudoxia) makes a billion dollars doesn't mean every movie has to make that much.
WHAT? I will be able to buy only 8 yachts instead of 10 because somebody pirated my movie? OUTRAGEOUS!

Because Avatar was the top-grossing movie of the year.

I really hated the main guy of Hurt Locker.
It had good scenes, but overall not really likable.
Golden facepunch moment

Save it.
Frankly, I can see why the creators are pissed off. Such a fantastic movie does deserves a little financial giveback. I rented it, so I did my part by putting less than a dollar in their pockets :v:
I feel bad for buying the film and funding this greedy fucktard.
Tell me, is there an actual online service where I can just pay a few bucks and watch the movie? As long as there is not such a service (Steam for movies, so to say) people will pirate it not because they don't want to pay, but because they're lazy. When you read about a movie on the net and you like it, most people would want to watch it over dinner the same day.

Alot of people pirate to see if a film is worth buying or going to the cinema to see or whether it's complete garbage that's not worth a penny, it's just the greed companys that go "hurr durr, piracy iz steeling and everione who pirates is a thef!!11!"

I don't want to go to the cinema for every good movie that comes out. I just want to watch a trailer or two, read other people's opinions, and then decide to buy it after which I want to 'own' a copy within the next 5 minutes.
It works great for games with Steam, so why isn't there something like that for movies. The film industry is stuck in ancient business models.

In many cases, trailers show the only good bits ina film, the rest can end up being shit.
As for reading other peoples opinions, some people may have different views to you and may like something you don'tn thus seeing the film before hand is usually a better option.
And I'm pretty sure there are services like the one you are talking about out there.
Netflix, or Redbox, I believe
The locker isn't the only thing the producer got butt hurted.
He just convinced me to not go see that movie.
What a great job he's doing
I'm pretty sure it's not in cinemas any more.

The movie was going to be underselling anyways. It only played in a few cinemas nationwide. Avatar has been one of the highest grossing films of all time, and at the same time one of the most pirated in years. The Hurt Locker just didn't have the "kick" that some big Hollywood productions have. The advertising was poor, as well as marketing, and the overall showings were too little in too few of places.
Because Avatar was the top-grossing movie of the year.
That's pretty gross.
I actually got a reply:
*name* its not about my money, its about thousands of people losing their jobs because file sharers believe movie, music and art is free. Its funny that they don't feel like this about video games and are willing to pay 50 dollars to try a videogame just because its not pirated online.

Jesus christ this guy is retarded. Box flood, anyone?
I enjoyed The Hurt Locker
I can imagine why people think piracy is a bad thing to the people who aren't chronic internet users.

Yeah, I have to pay royalties everytime I see any painting.
Hurt locker wasn't that good. just another action movie. I agree, only stupid people would download it because only stupid people like it
I seriously doubt he's going to get to all of the people who've already pirated it within his lifetime, not to mention the people who will continue pirating it.
Oh shit, so can they sue people from Finland?
because file sharers believe movie, music and art is free
I always thought they made movies to make something good and show off their creative abilities! They don't?

It doesn't fucking matter, you don't pirate movies and expect to escape the consequences, and yes, EVERYONE who pirates something is a thief.

Do you also believe that lending films to friends is theft as well? Do you think that every member of your family must buy a copy other wise it's stealing money that the producers could have made from each of them.
Going into a shop and stealing a physical copy that they could have sold for money is stealing, watching a film you where never going to buy in the first place isn't, since they weren't going to make any money in the first place.
