If you want to kill yourself, fair enough, life can get really hard and some people can't take it. It takes the worst kind of asshole to decide to try and take a bunch of innocent people with you, especially in a horrible way like burning to death.
I swear I've read a news story about this a year back

Anyways, this is absolutely horrible, I can't understand what would drive someone to try and kill many people when they're killing themself
It wasn't a suicide, it was a killing rampage. No different from all those school shootings, really.

I don't think there really is much to say about this, other than maybe the societal issues that we assume are behind the frequency of these incidents happening in murrica aren't so unique and perhaps only maybe a little farther past the threshold than the rest of the world's

Why can't it be both?

Apparently this isn't the first time it has happened. It says in the article that someone else did it in 2009 and there have been a number of them in recent years.
I read some New York Times article about this. The guy said in a suicide note that he was "expressing deep frustrations" it it. I'm guessing those frustrations were at the world, this suicide-bombing being a last "fuck you!" to the world.
Christ, my Fiancee just started flying back from china a few hours before this happened.
How did so little get out of the emergency exits? Do those even exist in China's bus system knowing their aversion to safety standards?...

It sounds like the bus was pretty packed, 47 dead and 30 injured. That many panicking people, some of which would have been on fire, all trying to escape at once doesn't sound easy.
