Why is it not clean?
Massive flooding, destroys animal habitats, crops, sometimes cities have to be completely emptied (in three gorges dam's case, 1.24 million) and many people weren't even compensated. Also the amount of methane released from the massive amount of trees and vegetation rotting over a quick period of time. It's a ridiculous waste of money and most people think of it as having no effect on the environment. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banqiao_Dam Potential for killing a lot of people too.
hopefully the western world will be forced to catch up, if not out of concern for the environment then for the sake of competition
Not gonna lie, this is damn impressive.
hopefully the western world will be forced to catch up, if not out of concern for the environment then for the sake of competition
China is still far behind in terms of pollution, it'll be away before they catch up and that's assuming North America and Europe become stagnant in clean energy development.
Have you seen pictures of big Chinese cities? Seems like a pretty logical move to me.
It was worse when i was over there. It isn't surprising that China is taking massive steps to prevent it, it's seriously killing them. That being said, it isn't really a problem for visitors. China moving to clean energy would be excellent for the world as a whole.
