Goddammit Argentina, just because you're closer to the Falklands than Britain doesn't make it yours. :argh:
Yes it does.
I bet it was the Narwhal brigade, trying to impale our freedom
Time for the Marines to fuck em over.
Yes it does.
Does that mean that Canada can claim the USA as their because it's close? And all of russia, starting with Chukotka?
Does that mean Alaska is Canadas?
No, because Canada sold Alaska to America. They didn't want it.
No, because Canada sold Alaska to America. They didn't want it.

was it not soviet russia
Even before the time of the Great Soviets I believe.
No, because Canada sold Alaska to America. They didn't want it.
I assume you mean what was then the Russian Empire sold it?
Am i detecting a "That's the joke"?
I love the fact that Argentina brought in controls on ships passing through its waters, meaning British ships couldn't enter without a permit etc etc.
I love it because the British government just turned to Argentina and said (in a highly sarcastic voice): "Oh, your so funny aren't you! Oh Argy, you always were the funny one...", and then just sailed straight in.
Edit:
Shit, yeah it was russia.
Oh right.

Canada doesn't have the cajones to claim us.
Pretty much how I see it too. Hopefully we will have prepared better if the shit hits the fan again. Although you didn't mention that warfare over long distances has improved since the last war - we have more bombers that can cruise over there as far as I know.
I'm willing to bet there's a nuclear sub already chillaxing down there, or on it's way.
And yeah we were close to losing the last war, fighting that far away from England completely from carriers/ships was a big risk. I think that the USA had already concluded that it was impossible to win that war without considerable preparation beforehand when we steamed in with a task force.
We had the Vulcan strategic bombers used in the black buck raids, which we do not have now, and have no replacement for. Although, there are Tornadoes based on the island presently.
It was the rumour of a nuclear sub on its way south that forced the Argentines to attack when they did, originally they were going to wait until after the carriers were to be scrapped, which was planned. Lucky for us, they blew the (fake) rumour out of proportion and attacked when they did.

Have a funny, you've made my day.

You should beware of your hat, I bet it's planning something.
They generally are, fucking hats.

Go get 'em lads.
I hope Argentina wins.
Seriously, Britain go home.
For queen and country, chaps!
:britain:
I don't understand the logic behind people saying "why does Britain still want an island that is on the other side of the world?". It doesn't matter if it's the Channel Islands, Gibraltar or the Falklands Islands: it's our territory and we are obliged to protect the people who are living there. How would it be any different from giving Alaska back to Russia?
And there are other countries with territories that are a great distance away. The USA has Guam. France has French Guiana. Etc. You can't ask Britain to give up it's overseas territories and then not do the same for other countries.
Also bear in mind that the Britain has had a claim over the islands for longer than Argentina. Prior to Argentina it was the Spanish who claimed the Islands, but you cannot fairly combine the two into one elongated claim.
I hope Argentina wins.

Why?
Also, why? It's our territory.
Fun fact, Britain has more overseas territories (which they directly rule over) than anyone else. :) 14 I believe.
Fun fact, Britain has more overseas territories (which they directly rule over) than anyone else. :) 14 I believe.
Wrong. Many have their own forms of government. Yes, they may be influenced by the British Government but that is still not 'direct rule'. Also, some territories are not even (significantly) inhabited (such as the British Antarctic Territory and the British Indian Ocean Territory) or are purely for military purposes (such as the two bases in Cyprus).
Queenie is head of state in all 14? They may have de-evolved a little but on important matters don't they still answer to number 10?
I hope Argentina wins.

What makes Argentina more entitled to the island (full of British Citizens) than Britain?
Queenie is head of state in all 14? They may have de-evolved a little but on important matters don't they still answer to number 10?
As I said, not directly. Direct control would imply that the British Government has control over every aspect of the territory with not input from a third party. Yes, important decisions still need to be cleared by the Government, but not all.
As for the Queen; she is the Head of State for many countries but I love to see her try and force a law through in Australia.
We have NATO.
The Argentinians cannot win.
I hope the island gets wiped of the face of the earth everyone on there is a fucking cunt
was it not soviet russia
No, it was imperial Russia.
