I have no idea either. It's funny because the people in the Falklands actually want to be under British control.
Considering the Queen of 'England' has no power beyond compulsorily signing laws into power, I really have no idea why he's addressing her.
If she felt the need she could greatly influence decisions, even ones as important as this. I think.
Yeah, I'd like to remind people that the same regime in Argentina in the 80's that was fighting "against British imperialism" was the same regime that sedated and dumped people off of cargo planes into the ocean that disagreed with them.
I'm not getting how this has anything to do with an empire/imperialism, which many South Americans (including Chavez) are saying it is. This isn't about being imperialistic - this is about protecting British territory and British citizens. Anyone who really thinks this anything to do with the empire is a complete idiot (if we were still insistent on maintaining an empire, why did we give independence to 99.9% of the countries in the 1990's?). Also, I'm laughing at how a load of third world countries are ganging up together and trying to look tough against a first world country.
This is a political troubled situation, every time something very bad is going inside Argentina they will talk about reclaiming the Falklands island, even though they never really even had a claim, they left the sodding island because they thought it was shit.
Everyone should be aware that the people living on the island are English speakers and actually WANT British sovereign rule. They are British after all... A British guy gave the islands their currant name aswell if I am not mistaken.

Besides, since when has violation of democracy in this country been new?
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has asked 'Mrs Queen' to hand over the Falklands to Argentina. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8529969.stm Edited: Thought he was President of Argentina, turns out he's the Venezuelan President who is supporting Argentina.
Hugo Chavez marketed a phone called 'penis'. Does anyone take him seriously any more?

I don't care for any of this new-aged shit. I still support British imperialism.

Maybe Argentina should try stamping it's feet when ordering the British ships to stop and turn around. The Toddler Effect.
As the Armed Forces of the UK sign under Royalty instead of the Parliament the Queen has the ultimate say in whether to invade anywhere. God bless the Queen. The UK is a Constitutional Monarchy. The Queen can kill anyone she likes. She's like a 1 Woman US government.

This is the reason why people dislike monarchies, and why the U.S. rebelled in the first place.
