Someone please fax me an aircon. Someone stole our aircon panel a week before we moved into the new house. 43c where I am.
I'd have -30°C over 47°C anytime. Fuck the heat, there's god damn nothing you can do about it aside from running naked outside pouring water all over your body.
Yeah. I always tell my friends that I love winter because you can escape the cold. During summer, while my friends are "enjoying" the +35C in the shade all I can do is lie on the floor in my underwear and try to avoid a heat stroke. Don't get me wrong, I love warm weather when I do something great outside, like go swimming, play beach ball etc. But when I'm NOT doing those I suffer. And there's nothing I can do about it.
Its nice that Perth has cooled down allot, i even had to use a doona last night. Still it was pretty bad last week, practically every day being about 44-46c, and after the sun had gone down still being around mid 30s.
Last years summer for spain was around 45 degrees, or maybe the year before last. I feel for you guy's :c
I can assure you that in this part of Australia there's no colder place other than Thredbo and the likes, but god damn even here I'm starting to feel the heat. 37'c outside at midday, and the 44'c forecast for NSW sure isn't bolstering my confidence here.
Isn't Thredbo a fucking ski resort?
Someone please fax me an aircon. Someone stole our aircon panel a week before we moved into the new house. 43c where I am.
Give this a go
Give this a go
that isnt such a bad idea
people are spontaneously combusting its that fucking hot.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Australia's Government run meteorological service, it got to 59.9°C at Dunalley, Tasmania at 4:22pm. If verified to be correct - that will be highest recorded temperature on Earth. [editline]4th January 2013[/editline] http://www.bom.gov.au/tas/observations/tasall.shtml [editline]4th January 2013[/editline] It likely won't be, as there was a bushfire near the area.

I helped a mate move house today. 12pm-4pm in broad sunlight, carrying boxes and furniture from a removalist truck. My everything is pain. I've been drinking water by the bucket. Also it was 7pm when we went to grab some fish n chips for dinner, it was still 40 fucking degrees out there. It's insane.
I checked on the TFS website and the only incident in Dunally today was a house fire
I feel sorry for people who have to park their cars on the street. Even with a carport protecting it, my car was still a fucking sauna when I had to get in and go somewhere today.
that isnt such a bad idea
And then the fan starts flicking condensation over your monitors and keyboard... Brilliant idea!
Is it at least dry heat? 47 C + humidty sounds like death.
Sucks to be those in South East Queensland. Day long sweat showers aren't my idea of a fun time. I'm currently having a holiday on the South Coast of NSW where temperatures are normally 20-24C and we're going to be hitting 36C. Damn good thing I'm near ocean that's 15C, this place I'm staying at doesn't even have cooling. Just heating :( … Still beats where I normally live that's going to be hitting 43C.
And then the fan starts flicking condensation over your monitors and keyboard... Brilliant idea!
point it away from monitor
I checked on the TFS website and the only incident in Dunally today was a house fire
Uh no. http://www.themercury.com.au/article/2013/01/04/369647_tasmania-news.html
It's 40C in Brisbane today and I'm still doing my daily kilometre run and workout. Man the fuck up Facepunch.
I'm sorry to quote the front page and rain on your parade, but there's a few stupid things about this post: #1 - An infant can do a one KM run #2 - It's incredibly stupid to go out running when its 40C outside, you're risking your life for no purpose #3 - You also happen to be encouraging others to go outside under the very good possibility of being hospitalized from the heat in order to do a pointlessly short run What's your workout consist of? Juggling donuts and pressing the remote control?
I feel sorry for people who have to park their cars on the street. I seriously think ive got 3rd degree burns on my arse because of it.
The only source of cooling I had was my two fans, and then the electricity went out for 3,000 homes including mine for a good 5 hours. Bloody ironic, on the bright side my neighbors joined my suffering!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_weather_records#Highest_temperature_ever_recorded ??? Just curious where you got that figure from, I'm finding 'highest recorded' records from all over the place with little consistency
38 degrees in kent, uk? how the fuck did we survive that Fastest temperature rise: 27 °C (49 °F) in two minutes; Spearfish, South Dakota, 1943-01-22
the entire country has cooled down except Melbourne now (for tonight), now it's past midnight and it's still 35, bullshit
38 degrees in kent, uk? how the fuck did we survive that
You didn't. You were all killed so they got some expats to come along and repopulated the UK
Too god damn hot in Central Victoria today, I defiantly need a air conditioner in my room. Hope my sister is alright in Tasmania, she doesn't live too far from the fire.. not looking forward to the rest of Summer here..
Sucks to be those in South East Queensland. Day long sweat showers aren't my idea of a fun time.
It's just too bad South East Queensland won't be hit by the heatwave. I'm in Brisbane, for the next week it won't even get past 35C.
In Australia, even the weather wants to kill you.
Man here in Sweden the temperature gets to max ~25c during the summer, and I can't take that. If I were to find myself in Australia in summer I'd be dead.
Might wanna check it out.
