Assuming you are biologically male and identify as such, it would be no different in essence than referring to you as a female. And as there's a lot of people who do such a thing on purpose when it comes to transgender folks, pro-trans people will very often take offense to it if it looks like someone is doing so on purpose.

Species identity isn't really a thing and even if it was it would be a physical concept. Gender identity is a mental trait, not a physical one like the misconception many people have. Sex=physical traits, gender=mental identity. You refer to someone by their identity.
