Anonymous To “Destroy” Sony’s Online Network for SOPA Support

Yay, let's hurt the consumer some more!
Why the hell are all these hacker groups trying to go after sony. I mean i just got a PS3. Crap.
Apparently the entirety of Sony are evil, heartless businessmen who want to ruin the Internet for all. So the only way to deal with that is to apparently take down their online network (which provides a service to paying customers) temporarily, and claim it was some kind of "warning" to the big event (read: more downtime).
Completely forgetting that Sony is made of multiple divisions and the ones they want to be targeting are the Sony publishing groups that are pushing for SOPA rather than their customers. Because honestly, attacking Sony affects the innocent end-users more than Sony, as the last PSN attacks proved. Sony came out of that slightly worse off, whereas paying customers had loss of service for days.

That's the point. They're trying to get people to get angry at Sony, and awful security is the easiest thing to exploit to do so.

And then people with a single shred of intelligence show that it was Anon that did this for no apparent reason at all, and people will hate Anonymous even more.

Ignoring that people are going to be pissed at anonymous since Sony isn't going "yeah so today we're going to be turning the PSN off for a month because fuck you all"
The logos are low res, hell the entire video is and the text is badly centered and in a shit font
i can't take this seriously.
So hack PSN, and take down PSN for three weeks, that will make people happy.
I know where anonymous is coming from, but fucking over the customers by screwing with PSN will do nothing but hurt customers.

I think they go by the principle of "the ends justify the means" but I don't think anonymous is doing anything other than annoy both PSN users and Sony.
I just hope it doesn't go down again.
I was grateful the first time because it made the PS3's price go down slightly in my local area thanks to trade ins, but now that I actually have one, I will be very pissed if it goes down.
And changed my password on PSN anyway, even if it was an idle threat that will never happen.

We are Anonymous.
We are Legion.
We do not forgive.
We do not forget.

Stop.
I know for a fact Bieber was opposed, they're just threatening celebrities who everyone likes to hate on.
The sad part here is how seriously it's taken to those who know nothing about Anonymous.

Like I said, it's probably written by some 8 year old.
I think Stratfor will disagree with that.
The problem is that anonymous is more an ideology than an actual group, so there are some people out there who align themselves with anonymous who actually know what they are doing and can do stuff like this.
No it isn't. It's just a name people use for various reasons. The people that make stupid overdramatic videos like this use the name as if it's a group, but then you have the anons that just use it as a shield when they're doing morally questionable and/or illegal things. They've never been fully unified on any cause and the reason why it may seem like they are is because the people who start these "movements" are the only ones drawing attention to themselves.
And then nothing happens.
Nah...
Probably just release classified information or take down their shit for like a day or something...
I'm pretty sure anon weren't the psn hackers earlier this year
So stop worrying

... okay guys its been confirmed, death_god's... "pretty sure"...
They say all this stuff but not of it ever happens...
Leave sony alone, I like getting free PSN and not playing on a fucking Xbox.
Destroy a company by denying their customer's access to their service.
Great logic there, Anon.

Wait what.
Oh and why are they targeting beiber? He is against copyright laws.
so... should i change my psn password?

He is saying that he isn't having to be scammed like 10 dollars a month to play online on ps3.

But you don't pay that much for Xbox
Being as bad they are with security issues, I can actually see this happen.
But you don't pay that much for Xbox
Still worse than free though. Sony really stepped up their game with the PSN in the last few years, and it is a perfectly fine system now, proving that you don't need a monthly fee to run a console online service.
Anon are fucking idiots.
They try to be badass and hardcore but they are showing off the be a bunch of dickheads.
I thought Nintendo was also supporting SOPA?
[editline]s[/editline]
Good news everyone!
