Student complains that sushi is raw even though that's how sushi is
Fixed.
I don't know a thing about sushi, but isn't it raw? And why is it raw, wouldn't it be dangerous to eat it, or is there some sort of special way they prepare it?
cooked sushi? is that even a thing that exists?
Yes and it's good.
She also likes her steaks cooked well done
I like my ice cream hot and my coffee frozen

I think there were old stories of people eating a ton of canned tuna and getting mercury poisoning or something along the lines. There is also different ways of preparing the fish, but that's up to the place and chef.
I hit up the all-you-can-eat sushi place near my house with my friends and consume approximately a metric fuckton every time If I die I wanna die full of raw fish damn it
I hit up the all-you-can-eat sushi place near my house with my friends and consume approximately a metric fuckton every time If I die I wanna die full of raw fish damn it
there's always amateur fugu chefs
Actually I've had cooked Sushi before at Jade Fire in a little town in Florida and it's amazing.
Why didn't she just order a fried roll? They're pretty much sushi for people who can't handle Nigiri or similar rolls.
Why didn't she just order a fried roll? You don't get to choose because there's different ingredients they get every day. See: Jiro Dreams of Sushi for the place she went to.
there's always amateur fugu chefs
one of the criteria for getting your fugu license is to get a fugu you've prepared (and you have to be licensed to serve fugu)
one of the criteria for getting your fugu license is to get a fugu you've prepared (and you have to be licensed to serve fugu)
follow me into this back alley for some fine fugu.
follow me into this back alley for some fine fugu.
you can come in my back alley, fugu~~
I go eat sushi with friends a lot. We have a pretty good sushi restaurant nearby, and we love messing with the waitress (she's a neighbor of one of my friends). They have this standard line where they always ask if you are familiar with the concept, even if you come there several times a month. She once asked me if I was familiar with the concept after coming there for the second time in a week, and I told her "Nah it's okay, I've had Chinese food before". She was not amused.
That Chuhan Lin looks like babe. I'd giver her my cooked sushi.
I like my sushi... No wait, I don't like sushi at all. It looks tasty though.
She also likes her steaks cooked well done
Everyone except Americans like steaks well done
Cooked sushi? Bunch of savages
If this story doesn’t make your Monday just a little more tolerable
girl makes a little ignorant mistake, is then ridiculed all over the world, bullied, called "a disgrace to her country" this is supposed to be a good thing?
She also likes her steaks cooked well done
What's wrong with that.
Sushi is tasty, but it's worrying that where it's raw, if not stored correctly, could contain live worms.
Sushi is tasty, but it's worrying that where it's raw, if not stored correctly, could contain live worms.
I don't think a three-star restaurant that only serves the day's fresh haul is going to have worms in their sushi.
What's wrong with that.
Cooking a steak to well done simplifies the taste and takes the juiciness of the steak. Theres nothing really wrong preferring your steak that way but it just ruins the steak in my opinion.
well done steaks are like a chunk of sadness on a plate it's purposefully passing the proper preparation procedures
I like my sushi... No wait, I don't like sushi at all. It looks tasty though.
Every time I see sushi I always think how tasty it looks but I dislike fish. [editline]13th May 2014[/editline]
Everyone except Americans like steaks well done
A well done steak is a disgrace
I thought Sushi being raw fish was a misconception born of the fact that it's usually served cold and there's a similar Japanese dish that is raw fish? Is that not the case?
Instead, she was met with a backlash of public shame and many called her a disgrace to her country. If this story doesn’t make your Monday just a little more tolerable, it’ll at least put you in the mood for sushi.
Why would it make my Monday more tolerable? I mean, sure it's sacrilege but to be called a disgrace to your country? I mean, it's like ketchup on a hotdog. It's sacrilege to put ketchup on a hotdog but I won't go around calling you a damn traitor if you do. She's stupid, but does she deserve that shit really? [editline]13th May 2014[/editline]
What's wrong with that.
If you're not gonna eat a steak medium rare, just don't order a steak. [editline]13th May 2014[/editline]
Cooking a steak to well done simplifies the taste and takes the juiciness of the steak. Theres nothing really wrong preferring your steak that way but it just ruins the steak in my opinion.
An old chef's tip is that if you order a steak well done, the chef will try to give you an inferior cut of meat; they (correctly) assume that you don't have a good pallet because you can tolerate a well-done steak, and turning the thing into charcoal hides all the imperfections of the shittier meat. So you're paying more money for less if you order well done. I mean, please, at least order it medium well.
Everyone except Americans like steaks well done
Basically everyone I know in England eats their steak somewhere between rare and medium. I even know a few people who like it blue but I don't know anyone who likes it well done, you might as well ask for a cooked shoe.

Otherwise, you need to be a brave soul.
I'm a 'medium well' kind of guy when it comes to beef. It's the nice spot between chewy and tough with just enough juice in the middle. If I'm a guest to anywhere it doesn't matter as long as it isn't profusely bleeding.
