46,000 Square Miles of Ice Melting from Ice Caps Daily!
1.6 Greenlands a month is not "a few per month."
It's still a ridiculously asinine number.
And so it isn't more than 1 Greenland per month.
It's still a fucking Greenland per month
Im confused, if this isnt the fastest rate since records began in 197whenever, how on earth does global warming fit in?
After reading the NSIDC briefing on arctic ice melts, this trend only continued through the first half of July, due to a persistent high pressure anomaly over the ice cap. Which raised the average temperature to a maximum of nine degrees higher than typical. After the high pressure system left, arctic ice melting is forcasted to reach 2007 minimums.

How is this funny?
1.6 Greenlands a month is not "a few per month."
holy fuck you are so LITERAL.
This doesn't mean that it is doing that always or even for weeks.
When I say I sneezed 5 times in the last minute you don't automatically assume I sneeze 300 times over one hour.
This is a temporary "speed" of melting.
I still can't grasp how people still deny global warming, Peru is expected to have no glaciers anymore sometime between 2025 and 2030. And it goes along with a rise in CO2, a gas that is PROVEN to cause a greenhouse effect in fairly many chemical, geological and physical experiments.

Idiots.
The ice melting is part of a cycle, we are in an ice age right now, since an ice age is any period on earth where we have glacial poles. So apparently we are just exiting the ice age.
I like how people just pull the card that it global warming is natural, perhaps they don't realise we are accelerating the process and also possibly accelerating the end of the human race all because so the CEOs of these companies can have 500 million USD sitting in their bank account doing nothing instead of 250 million.
Nobody would miss it. A better option, though, is all of New Jersey.
Oi! Fuck you! Not my state... Why not sink New Orleans again... maybe them black fellas can learn to swim this time :v:

I really doubt that polar bear just sat somewhere for long enough for it to melt with him ontop of it

The earth has been through this before, if we die because of this then...wow
In the words of George Carlin,

Didn't they find Viking artifacts hundreds of feet below ice in Greenland?
That would point to a warmer time hundreds of years ago.
Meaning that it's colder now than it has been.
Didn't they find Viking artifacts hundreds of feet below ice in Greenland? That would point to a warmer time hundreds of years ago. Meaning that it's colder now than it has been.
We're on the way out of an ice age.
We're on the way out of an ice age.
So that would mean it's happening naturally, correct?
And interfering would simply put more pressure on the planet, correct?
So that would mean it's happening naturally, correct? And interfering would simply put more pressure on the planet, correct?
Of course it's happening naturally. Mars is heating up as well.

Offtopic, but Mars continuously reminds me of Hugo Chavez's statement that Mars is dead due to capitalism :v:

omg i want to beat most of you up
omg i want to beat most of you up
Why, you think global warming is fake?

Did I find my way into the Twilight Zone equivalent of Facepunch where people say global warming is natural?
Did I find my way into the Twilight Zone equivalent of Facepunch where people say global warming is natural?
Um...Earth and Mars are both heating at pretty much the same rate. It's kind of the general consensus among the scientific community that this is natural.
It absolutely is. It's a cycle. We have, of course, the Iceages and their intervals. But we also have lesser waves called (get this!) coolings and warmings. We're heading out of a cooling, into a warm period. As much as this is the case, CO2 is proven to contribute to the higher temperature this time. If you buy into Al Gore...
Wanna know what the shitty part is though
90% of the world's nuclear reactors are built on coasts and a substantial number of them are at risk of being submerged if the sea rises enough
Can I see a link to something that says Mars is heating at the same rate as the Earth? Also while the Earth warming may be natural, ever since the Industrial Revolution it's been sped up by humans.
I don't see why people still argue that global warming is natural, that doesn't change that there's finite amounts of fossil fuels, or that huge factories burning fossil fuels pollute the environment. Regardless of weather or not global warming is natural, cleaner, greener energy is needed.
Nobody would miss it. A better option, though, is all of New Jersey.
The best option is clearly Detroit, I think being a desolute underwater ruin would probably be a lot better than what it is now.
oh shit oh shit we're below sea level
The best option is clearly Detroit, I think being a desolute underwater ruin would probably be a lot better than what it is now.
Hard decision honestly. Industrial waste, or ghetto.......
