No, if you had a abortion it would basically be murder in the eyes of that bill.

The south isn't a country... yet.
While the 'yet' is a good point, it's still part of the U.S.
And knowing the south, they'd expect her to carry the child to term anyways and put him or her up for adoption.
[editline]9th November 2011[/editline]
Which is completely and totally unreasonable to even CONSIDER.
Doesn't this technicaly make the morning after pill illegal?
Doesn't this technicaly make the morning after pill illegal?
no because it was rejected.
If the fertilized egg wants to be seen as a person it should come forward and tell them like any normal person.
That's a dumb statement, a baby cannot tell you anything at all until it learns to speak.
thank you mr. literal

It would have if it was passed, but it wasn't. Hooray for Mississippi not being dumb!
Even though I'm not a huge supporter on abortions, I don't feel its my choice, or anyone else's choice to tell women what they can or can not do with their bodies. We have already seen it in the 50's, pregnant women who cannot afford the child, or the child was part of an affair, using illegal abortion clinics that most often caused the woman extreme pain, and long term damage.
I couldn't possibly understand the struggles an 19 year old would be facing if she was going through college and working a day job. Suddenly one day she has sex with her boyfriend, and the condom breaks. She gets preggers and suddenly she is being told she needs to put her entire life on hold in order to nurse this child even if she does not want it. That to me is not right, to ruin somebody's life over one simple, stupid mistake.
and don't tell me "WELL THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN HAVING SEX, THOSE KIDS SHOULDA KNOWN BETTER"
Just shut up, we all know kids have sex, especially at age 19, even with protection mistakes still happen, and I don't feel anyone has the right to tell people what they can or cannot do as far as abortion is concerned.
Saw a bumper sticker on a van while driving to church last sunday.
Read: "Choose life! Your mother did!"
Yeah, exactly, she chose it.
The proposition was voted out today. I told you guys Mississippi could be reasonable.
Good on you, the citizenry made the right call.
Heh, so wait, I know the bill didn't pass and all, but...
if it had.. and a jumble of cells is suddenly a person... can you claim them as dependents on taxes?

Bad Reading.
It is official now. Horray!
While we're at it, lets declare carbon atoms as a person too!
Seriously, what the fuck is with this imaginary barrier that people define as "person"?
While we're at it, lets declare carbon atoms as a person too!
Fuck that racist bullshit, we cant exclude our silicon based brothers from this fight. I contend that any particle that can possibly become an atom, that may or may not be carbon or silicon is a person.
This is obviously the fault of religion and not the fault of stupid people.
They seem to go hand in hand.
But life starts before conception. Each egg and sperm cell is alive.
By masturbating you murder millions of (potential) people!
it hasn't gotten anywhere close to passing fyi. just because one person in politics is a moron doesn't mean the entire state is a bunch of racist redneck inbreds like you bigoted cunts seem to think
The vote was shot down and the bill didn't pass.

Even some of the hardcore pro-life people I know expressed happiness that the bill failed.
By masturbating you murder millions of (potential) people!
Additionally, millions of (potential) people die every time people have sex.
Every male in the world is a murderer then!
Lets sue EVERYBODY! :D
I live in Mississippi and this shit makes me hate my state even more...
I live in Mississippi and this shit makes me hate my state even more...
I know right?
What are they are gonna do next?
It's funny because the Mississippi has the lowest intelligence of any state in america.
Soo... what about us guys who jerk off? are we mass murderers? Our spermies are technically alive. I mean, they smell, move, and have a sense of direction...
It's funny because the Mississippi has the lowest intelligence of any state in america.
you can blame the delta region for that
So are we going to go from Birthdays to Conception Days? And if the infant dies in birth, is it a murder?
Maybe we should get the CIA to investigate a woman's vagina if she has a miscarriage.
I mean if they're as equal as you or me, it'd make sense. :v:
