I'm glad they're not removing Jackson from the 20$ bill. People often forget the good that he did for the American people and government during that time and opt in instead to brush him off as a "genocidal maniac".
John F. Kennedy would look damn good on a dollar bill.
Jackson was against any centralized banking system, so it's even dumber to have someone like him on our money.
Hey, they have an airport named after Reagan sooo

Never understood the hype about JFK. I feel like the most prominent thing he's famous for is just for getting shot. After that would probably be the Cuban Missile Crisis which, good job for taking us to the brink of humanity's destruction.

I read my own article you dolt. I'm saying it'd be funny if that happened
Lincoln is already on the $5. :v:
How about Reagan for the $20, the youngest face we have on a widely-used US currency is John F. Kennedy on the 50 cent coin and he ended up on the coin in less than a year after his assassination, 53 years ago.
Reagan was a terrible president, you've got to be kidding
I read my own article you dolt. I'm saying it'd be funny if that happened
It was a dumb joke and now it just looks like you're backpedaling.
Obama for the $10
Can we just get standardized $1 and $2 coins? They're so convenient
Can we just get standardized $1 and $2 coins? They're so convenient
I second this. Besides bottled soda without high fructose corn syrup, having a ton of coins instead of crumpled up paper ones was my favorite thing about Europe.
Can we just get standardized $1 and $2 coins? They're so convenient
And no more printing $1 or $2 bills, and have them eventually go out of circulation. No more pennies, or nickels, and then enlarge dimes a bit. I dont know about this but also perhaps replace the quarter with 50 cent coins. Digital transactions would work as they do now. Dealing with cash is quite annoying right now.
I've never had issues with cash, what's this all about?
In fact, I've never ever used my debit card outside of online purchases. I carry cash everywhere and use it everywhere.
What about Japanese Internment Camps.
FDR did shit loads for the USA and is probably the greatest US president in history, the internment camps were terrible but he was very much a man of his time, should Washington be removed because he owned slaves?

Kind of annoyed they didn't consider the 20, seeing as Jackson was a piece of shit.
Jackson did get our national debt to the lowest it's ever gotten though.
I choose FDR. He's without doubt our most influential president, it's surprising he isn't already on money. TR would be another cool pick, or what if we put both TR and FDR on a single bill. The Roosevelts.

The mint has a "secret" system for picking faces...
Which is bullshit for: we put the names on a dartboard
Seriously if Millard Filmore ever is on US currency it will vindicate my theory
Andrew Jackson a piece of shit? That fucker survived a bullet to the chest in a duel, and shoot his opponent dead! That's definitely worth being in a 20 dollar bill!
In all honesty, I wouldn't really care if they did change the face on the 10 dollar bill (or any bill for that matter), I just hope this change won't be too sudden for everyone to be confused on and for cash forgers to take advantage of.
Man, do I hate this narrative. Like, OK, yes, Andrew Jackson was crazy. But what people never seem to realize is that Andrew Jackson is not a harmless, fictional internet meme. Nikola Tesla, Teddy Roosevelt, Andrew Jackson, and whatever historical figure the internet wants to print on a million meme shirts are not just memes. They're real people, with real impacts, and real flaws, and Jackson in particular was a fucking scumbag. He was not this kooky, totally radical ~cuhrazy~ hilarious guy.
Personally, I think preserving history has value. Looking at old buildings is cool, reading an old book is cool, etc. It's good to have a connection with the people of the past.
How do you feel about the Confederate flag flying on publicly owned land?
I don't mean this in a shitty snarky way btw; genuine question

Put him on the $1,000 bill and wait for him to trickle down.
Reagan has been deceased for over a decade and hasn't been in office for nearly 30 years, but fair enough.
How about Woodrow Wilson?
And he still rustled the jimmies of a lot of people. And the other half says he's the best president in US history.
What about Eisenhower? He seems generally respected by both political spheres, both as a President and as a General.

I think it shouldn't happen.
I'm not saying we should never change anything. I'm just saying that there should be a decent reason to change things. In my mind, flying the flag of any non-US entity (except for the obvious exceptions where some other nation's flag would fly, like the UN building) shouldn't happen on public land.
If you want a legitimately crazy individual on your currency, why not go with Teddy Roosevelt?
You know, that guy who delivered a 90 minute speech while bleeding from a gunshot wound after an assassination attempt?
What about Eisenhower? He seems generally respected by both political spheres, both as a President and as a General.
Eisenhower would be a great choice.

but jackson fought off the big banks and almost saved the country from becoming a plutocracy.
almost

As opposed to the man who marched natives to their death despite the supreme court ruling in their favor and invaded Florida without congressional consent.
I don't see anything wrong with it. It's not like it takes a lot of effort to change it.
Eeeehactually it takes a lot of effort.

And I'd rather we keep him on the 20 dollar so that when people ask about we can talk about the evil dickish things he did.
They're just changing it to a woman because of New Age politics. "Look at how ~progressive~ and into feminism we are." It's one of the same reasons why there was such a big push for Clinton to run this election season for the presidency. The images we choose to display on our money, our most prominent physical manifestation of power, are not meaningless.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Hamilton the man who nationalized our money in the first place? He also created the first national bank of the usa. He's not the guy to take off the money.

Why isn't Benedict Arnold on any money, by that logic?
