really? i thought spin was the same but their magnetic moments were opposite
Wiki says so so I dunno.

[sp]I hope someone gets it[/sp]
its that chinese cartoon what has the robots and such
Whaaat the hell anti-gravity matter/particles...
edit: didnt think this was possible actually.
Anything is possible when you put your mind to it, there's noting to it.
Science is our brain child, the possibilities are wild.

nah there's quite a lot of impossible things

Speed of light. Yes we're talking about antimatter, but that doesn't mean its from another universe, it's quite real and will quite probably follow the laws of physics.

yes, but the laws of physics are only based on what we can deduce from our examination of the universe, when we find things that just dont fit, we figure out why they dont fit
Hence why probably. I mean, it's hard to say for sure. We're all just so used to reality being what is is and everything is drilled into our skulls to such an extent it's hard to even imagine something being different.
Still, i don't think antimatter has quite the properties they want to test it to have. But there might be something else out there that does float up. I mean, gravity isn't really just a bunch of magnets like some people make it sound.
antiprotons are called negatrons how fucking cool is that
Instantly made me think of this. One of the teachers at my high school had this printed out as a wall-sized poster and hung it in his classroom.

I bet on "a long ass time". We probably will have fusion before that.

And that is saying something.

just as soon as antimatter stops annihilating all regular matter it comes into contact with and producing earth-shattering (not exaggerating) explosions in any real quantity
(never)
I know antimatter annihilates all matter it comes into contact with, but do they have any attraction?
Wait what? I thought that the common belief was that antimatter is affected by gravity just the same way as matter is, I mean, after all it's the same thing only with its electrical charge inverted. Hell, this would really complicate the definition of gravity, considering how it's tied to mass and mass is predicted to be the same for particles and their antiparticle pairs (if they have one)
What I really want to see is artificial gravity so we can use it in space, there has to be a way somehow.

You're right. The magnetic force is repulsive sometimes. ;)
It seriously concerns me that I never thought that there was an opposite of gravity that pushes away
I don't see why that concerns you since as far as we're aware, gravity is always attractive.
Sure.
