I'm guessing Source 2 will come with proper tools from the get go.

Honestly I don't want another L4D game. I loved L4D, and L4D2 was also great, but the gameplay is sort of tired now. I'd totally be for a third one if they changed how it plays radically, but otherwise I'm really not interested in another L4D with 2-3 more infected and some more versions of the same types of guns.

I doubt Valve would go and make a 3rd game without changing it significantly. They aren't known for milking a franchise. I don't think they are anyway.

Who cares about HL3, I want [B][I][U]EP3[/U][/I][/B], after that, then we can have HL3. Honestly, HL2 Ep3 should not become vaporware while HL3 actually happens.

Great logic there.[/QUOTE] ok first off, if EP3 is bundled with HL3, then I don't really have a problem. If Ep3 and HL3 are the same game, then I do because then part of HL3 is predictable. Why should I want something like HL3 to be any bit predictable?

We'll have to wait and see regardless

Whether it's called Ep3 or HL3 we don't know, and that's a decision that I feel Valve will make solely on the value of each title in terms of marketing. They might drop the words 'Episode 3' simply because the new game is too long to be considered an episode and they feel it makes more sense to title it as a full game in itself. Or they might choose to hold onto the Episode 3 for whatever reason. Whether it's called Ep3 or HL3 has nooooooo effect on us consumers whatsoever; it's not going to affect what the game is about, how it plays, when it comes out, etc. It's literally just going to be the text on the box. I don't know why some people are so up in arms over what they think the title should be. Any references to both HL3 and Ep3 in any leaked Valve databases are more than likely just remnants of older development work

It'd be kind of weird to have 2 games come out that further the same story at the same time...

I said if HL3 is the next game it's only logical to assume that it will start where Episode 2 ended.

By the time HL3 comes out Haswell machines will be old hat and struggle to run it, like people's computers in 2004 with HL2.

Am I the only one just as if not more excited for L4D3 than HL3? Don't get me wrong, I love half life, but Left 4 Dead just holds a special place in my heart. And for everyone asking what the fourth L4D will be called, isn't it obvious? Instead of "Left 4 Dead," it'll be "Left for Dead."
