I'm not more excited, but I am just as much looking forward to L4D3. Because knowing Valve it'll have a lot more features and mechanics, and that's something the L4D franchise has needed for a long time. I don't know what to expect with Half-Life, but with L4D I can at least make probable assumptions.
Otherworldly?

For the 6 (probably 7 if it releases in 2014) years, it would need to be something rather good. If they just released another episode with the same mechanics and formula as HL2/EP1/EP2, it's going to be a let-down. Even if EP2 still does fine today, it really needs to do something interesting to make it worth the wait.

I'm hoping for a totally new AI system where the AI can find cover and pathways in real time, and hopefully also have the proper animations to lean around cover without exposing their entire person like they currently do.
I really wish games had smarter AI, it seems like AI hasn't improved in a decade.
Most of them still stand still and shoot you.
I think the Source 2 development is really the HL/EP 3 (As well as source 2) stuff.
Like many times before this, we've freaked out over stretched-out hype for the duration of the wait. I'm containing myself until we get some actual official media images from Valve.

Really, you don't say?

DOTA 2 bot guy hasn't updated in awhile.
I think i know where he's been.
"Missing Freeman!"
It really annoys me the L4D3 has more people than HL3.

The G-Man is revealed? :v:

Yeah it annoys me too that people kinda got over it after waiting 6 years for it.

I want to be on Valve's softball team.

There is nothing a third L4D can do gameplay wise without gimmicks that can't be done with L4D2 DLC.
I hope Source 2 has map streaming and L4D3 is on S2 and with that it has a Hardcore mode which is just the entire campaign with no Saferooms.
that sounds cruel as fuck but really fun

So it'll be like the L4D2 to L4D1. A generally better game, and this time around we can hope for polish. Sounds good to me.
It would be cool to see L4D3 have a slower, more suspenseful pacing.
Also better animations, why hasn't Valve hired better animators?
V_model animations looked quite bad in L4D2 and CS:GO.

The Wii Fit killer we've all been waiting for?
It sounds weird but I reckon that's some internal gym group or something, since LA Fitness is a gym chain.

I feel like they could hire the best animators in the world and people would still complain about the animations.

Boomers now coat their victims in syrup.

Source just chops up animations for some reason. Even non-valve source games have choppy animations.
L4D1 had perfectly fine animations though that no one complained about. TF2's stock weapons have good animations as well. But everything after that was just shit.

L4D2 was atrocious. It was shittily balanced and had a very incoherent asthetic and gameplay. If they had excluded all L4D1 content and used only the new Special Infected (who fill the L4D1 SI's roles in different ways) it would be somewhat bearable, but instead they created a clusterfuck of shittery by throwing in the L4D1 SI's for shits and grins.
Not to mention a significant amount of the map design is like putting your head in a fucking tumbledryer for six hours then listening to the Bee Gee's on loop (EG: Confusing.) like a massive caner.

The melee combat is weightless and doesn't feel satisfying at all, killing things in general is unsatisfying and unrewarding (It was in L4D1 too.)
Or a new Day of Defeat? Or, I don't know, fix Day of Defeat: Source
What's wrong with DoD:S? I haven't played it for years but it worked well back then
L4D2 WAS atrocious in terms of polish, but I'm not concerned for balance because I don't play versus. I don't really find versus worth playing because it's always 1-sided depending on which team has more experience. L4D2's map design was pretty bad but at the same time it really had everything from L4D1 other than the better animations, so I can't complain when all of the other good parts of L4D1 are there.
If Valve actually accepted new items into the game officially for L4D3, mainly maps and perhaps even decent weapons, it would be so worth the sequel on its own. But imagine if L4D3 took all of the greatness from L4D1 and combined it with the lessons Valve learned from L4D2 whilst keeping the enjoyable content, it could be a really amazing game.

It's possible. Why have "Source2 Characters" and "Source2 Entities" groups?
No ricochet source? Valve you dissapoint. I don't want a another l4d I hate those games.
If Left 4 Dead 3 comes out it needs to have modding support from the get-go. Left 4 Dead 2 level of modding support. Without it, it'll probably die quickly.
It's possible. Why do they have "Source2 Characters" and "Source2 Entities" groups?
lols, don't rate me late bro. I was browsing the whole thing before Valve took it down.
lols dont get buttmad over ratings bro
no one cares when you were browsing it
Please do not be another false Alarm. I could care less about L4D, but HL3 has my full attention.

I'm not entirely disagreeing with your opinion, but if you got confused by any of the maps design except for the parish you must have difficulty exploring any maps. L4D2 maps were extremely linear and easy to navigate with the exception of the parish.
Also, killing common infected is extremely satisfying. The gore system alone does this.
