I wish people read the thread, I'm getting sick of reading "am I the only one wanting L4D instead?" three million fucking times.
Remember that the Half-Life series is the reason why Facepunch came to fruition in the first place

It's in Source 2 or whatever the new engine might be, so I wouldn't be surprised about it taking so damn long.
;41093457']Wait, Kelly Bailey is in these groups?

He's still not at valve. Sorry to disappoint
l4d3: jockeys can now double jump, increased jockey's jump to 50 feet, boosted jockey's health to 500 hp.
but to be honest, a little nerf to the jockey would be very appreciated.
Jockeys are so fucking annoying, if you move back when they jump at you, and hit them when they land they can still slash you in the split second it takes to do that.
I am imagining how fucking awesome it'd be if you came across a car, (or a millitary humvee if you get lucky) Hop on it, mount a machine gun onto it, have people in the back firing whatever gun they have equipped, when a giant horde is chasing after you. And its all up to the driver whether or not you make it or not.
That'd be fucking JIZZTASTIC.
I'm thinking something along the lines of that game made by the Counter Strike guy, Tactical Intervention? Where instead of the campaign ending at the rescue vehicle it has to be driven from point A to B, maybe requiring fuel along the way with several more maps. You'd be able to find gas cans and pile them in. I'm just wondering how it could be made competitive while in transit though. The vehicle could have varying states of disrepair and maybe the ability to up armour it. I'm thinking more along the lines of the van from the end of Crash Course than the Dodge Charger from Dead Centre, because the vehicle being slower would make it more susceptible to attack.
Oh my fucking god, yes please. It annoys the crap out of me how much DoD;s has been ignored.
There's still a pretty strong market for tactical WWII games, too. And, while DoD:S certainly isn't Red Orchestra or Festung Europa, it's a pretty solid game that relies on teamwork and objective taking.
You guys forgot the two most important:

Concerning Left 4 Dead, I am hoping that they shake up the formula somewhat, so that it's not just "kill loads of zombies and try to reach the end of the level"; I wanna see the Survivors genuinely surviving, like they end up travelling to the American heartland, travelling by car and setting up camp here and there. Hell, with the character-centric nature of Left 4 Dead, I daresay that it would be plausible to make L4D3 a zombie survival FPSRPG; not quite like DayZ, but more like Walking Dead Survival Instinct only done better and with co-op.
Also you should be able to struggle more against the special infected, since even though working together is key to survival, you should at least have the opportunity to break free even though allied intervention is easier, like cutting a Smoker's tongue with a combat knife, or pulling your legs up and kicking off the Hunter who has you pinned. It'd need to be not too button mashy though; it'd need to be relatable in terms of controls, like holding down the jump or crouch key and letting go to kick off the Hunter, or left-clicking when the attack icon passes over a length of tongue (similar to Megaton Punch from Kirby Super Star), so that it's more intuitive and less "mash X to not die". Even if it'd technically be QTE, it'd be the better kind of QTE that requires timing and intuition as opposed to wild unskilled button-mashing.
Regardless, I hope they do something different but still cool with the next Left 4 Dead.
Half life 3 having only 1 group could also mean that it's already in beta and they're slowing it down for source 2 to catch up, sort of.
what i'm expecting for l4d3 is hats, or maybe even customizable survivors with generic voices. maybe more than 4 survivors to pick from
Maybe it's "HL3 and EP3".
Also realized that if you read
HL3
EP3
Between the lines, from up to down its "HELP33"
Valve employees are being tortured :tinfoil:
The first time I played L4D1 was genuinely an experience that I had never felt in a game before. When L4D2 came it took that old experience I had and made it feel fresh again. I definitely look forward to a new L4D game as well as a new half life.
why do I feel like it shouldn't be long before we hear something?

people have felt this way for a while
That's literally almost every zombie movie/video ever made, how about we go into the central US, ya know The Great Plains and shit.
"we gotta get to the safehouse"
*campaign consists of 4 levels, 3 of which are running across a derelict highway and the finale is in a gas station mini-mart in the middle of nowhere*
With things like "gayben" and "food", and hundreds of others on the lists, what makes people think that the "Half-Life 3" project isn't just another joke like those?
Sorry to burst everyone's bubble but think about it.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but did you think about what you just said before you said it?
What if Episode 3 is a movie/short film and Half Life 3 is a game set after the movie/short?
That wouldn't in Half Life/Valve's style, it's all about giving the player an immersive and interactive gaming experience, not just letting them sit back and watch something. Plus that would be such a cop out.
If anything it might just be for a movie meant to be shown at the end of Episode 2 like at the end of Episode 1. I think Valve said something about that in the dev commentary somewhere that they didn't do it for episode 2 because so much had changed in the game design since the movie at the end of episode 1 was made.

No, someone will literally die before we get actual Half-Life 3 media. And by someone I mean everyone.
Like Dr. Breen's voice actor? :(
Fuck yes, now it's only another 3 years till the announcement, ITS CLOSE GUYS

I'm sure he did...he's probably dicking it up in the combine overworld right now...

My guess is we hear something at either Gamescom or PAX Prime. Or that things remain silent as normal. But if they do reveal something, things will likely be amazing. E3 was too suitsy for Valve anyways, too "official" with all the major manufacturers and publishers waving their things about.

I was thinking it might be for a movie at the beginning of EP3, that would catch you up to the story, like EP2 had. With the wait, they'll probably have something summarizing the previous games so people who don't remember the games' plot starting from a decade ago aren't lost.
