God damn these comic book reboots have got to burn out sooner or later.
Never been a fan of the entire Superman concept. Woohoo it's a perfect invulnerable person who can pretty much do everything with no problems whatsoever. Boooring.
I thought that at first.
Then i actually read up about him.
You should try it.
Why doesn't he just put the whole world in a bottle?
Why doesn't he take earth
and push it somewhere else
Watchmen,
Dawn of the Dead
and
He ruined both of those movies.
Watchmen lost a good portion of the subplot in favor of a more action oriented movie, and he turned Dawn of the Dead into a pointless gorefest that shares only the words "mall" and "zombies" in common with the original movie.
Granted Watchmen was still a very good film, but there was nothing good about the Dawn remake, imo.

He's not totally invulnerable. He has people he cares about, who aren't invulnerable.

You would have to make a trilogy out of Watchmen for it be properly represent the comic. I wonder if Moore would still be pissy if it was super faithful.
Dude.
Its Superman.
He'll have a early start, if you know what I mean.
you just haven't seen good adaptations of him or read good comics of him, most adaptations (which is where most people learn about superheroes) are so hilariously bad. Try Superman the Animated series from the 90's idk
Also his other weakness are red sun light (can be reproduced via technology) and magic
I guess its more of the fact that I can't really take him seriously as a character because he's got hardly any character flaws and is basically a living deus ex machina to all the situations he's put in. While I don't care for superheros in general because of this, I find superheros like Batman more interesting because he's literally a normal dude with a lot of money, a dark past, some character flaws, etc. Those are what his weaknesses are, actual weaknesses in character and the fact that he can actually get pretty hurt, and that's more interesting to me.

Well he does have character flaws but which flaws it depends on which version/era of Superman you're talking about. I always liked this little general opinion on the Batman and Superman differences: Batman is a man who wants to be a god/symbol. Superman is a god/symbol who wants to be a man.
Like, everyone can't like a character and that's just fine. However there are countless instances and stories where Superman is not a living deus ex machina in all the situations he is put in.
Superman gets hurt plenty of times but I actually don't read Superman for the beat em up action sequences. Those are nice additions but never the main idea/theme of his mythology. It would be like having Batman's car as a major theme in his stories.

How about you, uh, I don't know, watch the movie first?
You can't honestly predict the direction that Superman's character takes in the movie. Unless you mean Comic Supes, which is completely irrelevant in a Man of Steel thread

See that sounds like a really interesting premise but I somehow doubt any mass-market superman related media is going to really be all-in on that concept, preferring instead to adopt a classic "power fantasy" superman or the smallville approach. But I could be wrong, depends on what people say about the movie when its out.

The Reeve Superman was about that exactly. He even gives up his powers!
I'm not sure what you mean about power/fantasy. I don't think Superman in mass media has ever been presented as a power tripping kind of character if that's what you mean. That's kind of the opposite of his noble character. That's why so many people find him boring, because he NEVER gets off on having that kind of power when everyone else would.
