All the items are ported maps from single player. I am dissapointed.
I swear to god if this is all just for the arg, I'm gonna be so pissed...
It also says:
Play community maps or submit your own! Follow community authors and be sure to rate their work.
Kind of excited for this. I'll probably make a deathmatch version of my upcoming TTT map release for Black Mesa.
Dunno if anyone else noticed, but Black Mesa popped up on the Workshop, (Currently the one on bottom right with 7 items and no title image) though clicking on it just redirects to the main Steam store.
Anyone know how legit that is?
It confirms Black Mesa has workshop support, but beyond that I'd reckon it's just a permissions error. Steam devs seem to do that a lot, makes me think the tools for that aren't exactly the greatest things ever.
These are maps that are being made as extra stuff to test out the Black Mesa workshop. The actual deathmatch maps which will be included in the full release, without needing to download them off the workshop, will be remakes of the original Half-Life 1 Deathmatch maps. The ones on the workshop are just extra, assuming they don't take them down the night before release.
The reason I know this is that they've talked about the HL1 Deathmatch maps they've remade for months now, so obviously those will be included in the full release by default without having to be downloaded off the workshop. The ones ON the workshop are just up for testing, or some other thing.
The ported ones on the workshop are likely to stay, seeing as they each have descriptions.

Or perhaps those maps are just going to be on the workshop??????

They've never had ARG things linked to from the official website tho
https://steamdb.info/app/346680/history/
App was deleted, previous name: Black Mesa Dedicated Server
;)
When did the site update to show an updated EBS Message?
It also went from Day/Hour/Minute to Hour/Minute/Second.
It also went from Day/Hour/Minute to Hour/Minute/Second.
Because it's less than a day away from zero.
Looks like it might be the Steam release after all: https://twitter.com/BlackMesaDevs/status/595427977908854785
They're tweeting to a whole bunch of streamers about this.
It shows a trailer and moves here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/362890?unforeseen-consequences
Rofl, it stayed on 1 second for a while, and then I got a error 522.
Yup, everybody refreshing at once brought it down. GG.
So based upon the trailer/computer-monitors we now know HL1 takes place ~2002.
Anyone been able to save the video?
20 bucks for the same shit as the mod and no Xen
gg fuck yourself black mesa devs

It's also on the store page.

I'll stick with the torrent they released in 2012, especially if all I'll get are a bunch of deathmatch maps and the same fucking game otherwise.
What a fucking insult.

Ah yes, asking for money after 8 years of volunteered work. What an insult. They should just kill themselves.

They can gag on cocks for all I care to pay the rent. I don't fucking care if you all say otherwise. I'm not paying $20 for what boils down to bugfixes, some maps that will end up on Gmod or alternatives soon enough and possibly Xen. It's an incomplete game.
$20 for the full deal? Sure. I'll do that. $25 for the full deal once it's finalized? Again, sure. Instead however they plug along for three years after releasing 3/4 of the game and they have the balls when they are done to show off this.
Fuck you. (not you Antimuffin. Black Mesa)
yeah the very most I was willing to pay for this was 10 dollars. 20 is asking too much when there's a decent free alternative

You see, if you talk like that, no matter what your point is, you're going to sound like an angry child and no one will take you seriously. Calm down.

Then just keep playing the free version? I don't understand why you're so mad. If you don't care about the overhaul and the multiplayer, then the free version should continue to suit your needs until Xen.
There is just no point in purchasing this Early Access. It's kind of ridiculous that they did this. I don't think they don't deserve the money, but this is was literally not necessary and it seems almost no progress has been made since the original release.

How about you actually pay the developers some cash for working their asses of for 8 years instead of being a cheap prick.

It's less I'm mad and more immensely diasappointed. What started out as a great mod idea from a render of the dam and culminated into a widely anticipated free pre-release and an amazing soundtrack and even more promises about what was coming next with the full release, along with a very successful greenlight campaign...turned into this. It just feels like something you would expect out of Kickstarter or indiegogo.
Damn.

I remember how they kept saying it will be free years ago.
