It's not really comparable.
The twilight fan craze would best be described as rabid. Those incidents related to videogames are usually isolated, where as the effects of the twilight mania are easily observed.
Yes of course there are twilight fans who aren't doing stupid shit as a direct result of twilight, but that's not the problem. The problem, that IMO really needs to be looked at, is [B]why[/B] it has become a cultural obsession with young women. The character of Edward is probably the worst fucking boyfriend you could have, he's really actually a manipulative piece of shit, so why do young women find his character so captivating?

Twilight is actually a fun series to watch. They land right in the "so bad, it's good" category for me. They're just so unbelievably cheesy and cliche, if I hadn't know it was a "serious" movie, I would have thought it was a parody or a satire on american teenage girls.
A former colleague of mine, who's an over-obsessed Twilight fan, wrote ALL of the dialogue lines from the first movie. She also claimed to watch it over 10 times.
