Germany, Australia and possibly even Canada might have the XBox One illegal due to the Kinect making it a monitoring device.
I would be really okay if the Xbox One was illegal here, although I'm not affected by some of the things they are doing a lot of other people are so Microsoft deserves to get as little sales as possible.

"Will they be able to authenticate discs?" "Xbox will only launch in those 21 countries." "Yeah, but can they play imported games?" "Well, they would WANT to wait until it's available there..."
Is this match fixing? Is someone bribing them to produce a terrible console? What the fuck is this shit? It's insane. Every time I think they've reached rock bottom they somehow make the product even worse.
So... France, Germany, Belgium are all on the list... What about Luxembourg?
No Israel? Surprising consider XBL for 360 is there. Looks like PS4 wins that country
http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2013/06/11/microsoft-plots-2014-launch-for-xbox-one-in-asia/
Asian gamers will have to wait a year longer than their American counterparts to get their hands on Microsoft’s Xbox One, which will only be available in the region in late 2014, a year after its U.S. launch this November.
Yeah right wait longer while your competitors are launching worldwide
is this a joke or something please tell me you are not so fucking spoiled that you truly believe anyone who can afford a games console can afford an HDTV
the term 'HDTV' isn't applicable anymore considering most TV's produced qualify as being one. This isn't 2007 anymore
Germany, Australia and possibly even Canada might have the XBox One illegal due to the Kinect making it a monitoring device.
I doubt it will get banned, Microsoft has enough money to make sure that doesn't happen [editline]12th June 2013[/editline]
is this a joke or something please tell me you are not so fucking spoiled that you truly believe anyone who can afford a games console can afford an HDTV
The PS4 only supports HDMI for video as well, so you'll either need an HDTV or a computer monitor.
I used an old circa-2004 CRT TV (still my main TV) for my 360/PS3 until I got my new desk and hooked my PS3 up to my monitor Christmas last year. As poor as I am it's either the TV or the console, so I guess when I get a PS4 it'll just have to replace my PS3 on the desk.
rip in peace the idolm@ster series
I'm looking at my Best Buy website right now, an HDTV Twice the size of my monitor costs just over $200.
The PS4 only supports HDMI for video as well, so you'll either need an HDTV or a computer monitor.
Cnet says different: http://reviews.cnet.com/ps4/
Yes, the PS4 will have a Blu-ray drive that can also play DVDs. The PS4 will also have three USB 3.0 ports, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1, HDMI, Analog AV-out, and optical digital audio output.
Nice little infograph: [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/SYiipmM.jpg[/thumb]
the term 'HDTV' isn't applicable anymore considering most TV's produced qualify as being one. This isn't 2007 anymore
Hey guess what? Most people don't purchase new things as soon as they become available, especially in the display market. Sure, maybe they do with smart phones. But I can't say I know anybody who buys a new TV everything it comes out. Some people can't afford it, or have other priorities. Most people use their TV's until they break before considering a new one.

So buying the console in unsupported countries would be considered a scam?
Eastern Europe also not in the list :|
Good job guys, way to abandon a market filled with roughly 40% of the world's population! [sp]My prediction: jailbroken xbox one within a fortnight, available at a cutthroat price.[/sp]

It worked, we're not flush by any means, so we didn't bother buying an HDTV. Only recently did we get enough of a bonus to afford one.
Because Xbox 360 sold so well in Asia, where you'd get probably your most money out of, you can safely give them the Xbox One a year later. Wow I'm pretty sure they're working for Sony now or something, Christ.

Feel a bit bad for them. Not in the "They don't deserve this" way, but in the "Man there's people getting fucked in that company right now"
Sucks for U.S. troops stationed out in the Middle East, they enjoyed their 360s. At least now they can enjoy the PS4.
I think Microsoft hired 5 people from /v/ but they didn't know it. Microsoft asked them to come up with something great but instead they came up with the worst possible idea imaginable. Great job /v/ you killed Microsoft.
Xbox 360 was so ridiculously undersold and underused in Japan that I don't even think they'll bother with the Xbone.

Perhaps that reason is because the 360 didnt sell well in Japan? If you see how many 360s were sold in Japan you can see why they're not bothering with the Xbox One in Japan, Nintendo as a firm grip currently in Japan and pretty much controls the market there.
So the first poster is rated 10x disagree and then the next is rated 10x informative for essentially saying the same thing? Never change Facepunch.
Feel a bit bad for them. Not in the "They don't deserve this" way, but in the "Man there's people getting fucked in that company right now"
I feel bad for the support team and the call center people. They are going to get so much shit over this, apart from the shit they already probably gets
Made from the list in the OP for your convenience: Lookit all that red.
Actually, Australia should be red too. Just add a few spots of green on the major city's and the surrounding area.
Given the broadband requirement you may as well red-out all of arctic Canada and Russia, and add a few red splotches to the middle of Australia.
Not really. Can't say for Canada, but here in Russia we have a pretty cheap internet in relatively big cities (I pay about 10 bucks for my 100 mbps, for example). Can't say the same for the countyside though, but I think it's the common problem for almost every country that has some of it's villages far away form the big cities.

Then again I am apparently faster than 92% of canada, so I can't tell.
