Shooting the van wasn't in the rules of engagement blah blah blah who cares anymore even if they're guilty the military will just ignore the incident.
I imagine the big motivation for nabbing this guy was the messages detailing the back door deals. You know the guys who really run the show get all butthurt about people blowing the whistle on their illicit dealings.
There wasn't really anyone pressuring them to reveal it, and it just so happens that killing at least a few people who were certainly civilians is bad for PR.
But admitting it was a mistake proves your honesty.
And of course there was no pressure to reveal it, how could you if nobody knew it existed?
so your logic is, "well I don't know if he's UNARMED so I'll just shoot him."
they were trying to HELP THE WOUNDED. they weren't aiming anything at anyone or wielding anything.
You see a guy on the street who killed many of your buddies. He is looking around a corner with what appears to be a weapon in his hand. Being in a bad part of town where the guy that killed your buddies can run rampant without consequence, you shoot him to save your friend. He is now on the ground and one of his friends comes up in a van which you cannot see into. He gets out and helps the guy who killed your friends. Not wanting this killer to come back and kill more of your friends and possibly you, you shoot the guy helping him as in the spur of the moment, your life in danger now that his friends showed up, you shoot the guy helping him.
You are now a ruthless cold blooded heartless monster. /logic
But our government doesn't lie or hide anything from us. :downs: They give the full story and truth on the news!

What are you talking about "proves my honesty"?
Uh, it was a known friendly fire incident where the two reporters were killed, and it was also known that they fired on the second vehicle. There wasn't much pressure for more on the story. It's just that once people get to see a video named collateral murder they hop on the bandwagon that they didn't care about before.
Name a major war conflict where no reporters on EITHER side were killed
Thermopylae! Do I win a prize?
My opinion:
He fucking deserves it.
yeah how dare he expose war crimes!

That is a fucking terrible and biased comparison.
[editline]06:55PM[/editline]
and in the end, you prove nothing
yeah how dare he expose war crimes!
The issue is of him releasing thousands of classified documents that don't pertain to human rights violations, war crimes, or anything that would warrant their release to the public. He went overboard and not surprisingly he got caught.
Yeah, everyone who deals with classified information should leak whatever they know!
Are you really taking that line of logic?
The sarcasm just whizzed right by.

The article said only 4, not thousands.
Motherfucker. "Release Manning", I can hear the slogan being chanted now.
Also, Manning is a true hero to all us anarchists around the world.
