I don't get why you're talking about natives?
SOURCE :http://eae.alberta.ca/documents/WIA/WIA-BETW-connecting-dots-report.pdf
Over the 18 months the Committee listened and gathered input for this report, we were often told how tired Aboriginal people in Alberta are of talking about problems and issues. They told us that many of the issues are the same as they were 10, 20, and 50 years ago. Barriers and Challenges to Education and Employment not having enough education or training for employment; » lack of jobs in or near some Aboriginal communities; » dealing with racism, discrimination and negative stereotypes; » lack of transportation to or from work for jobs outside the community or not having the money to buy a transit pass for a job in the city; » not having a driver’s licence for employment purposes. Many Aboriginal families may not have a car to learn to drive; » quality affordable child care is difficult to find; » the lack of quality, affordable housing for Aboriginal people is an ongoing issue no matter whether you live in the city, on reserves or settlements, or in smaller communities;
That's why, it's not only in Alberta, but this Quebec issue is a direct systemic implementation of discrimination, I know so many kids who play with turbans, even rugby. I'm not referring to the "cowboy" image of Texas and Alberta. Texans are generally thought of as racist (am I wrong, come on) And I think Quebecers are too, my impression is that French culture thinks its better and more unique than all cultures. Albertans are not racist generally, the Natives were wronged a long time ago by neglect of the Canadian government in some respects, not by the people, the people feel bad for the Natives because they live in poverty. Which brings me back to: Quebec is openly racist and they think they can be because they feel they have been wronged by other cultures not respecting them enough, and they like their white French community. Isn't France pretty racist like that too? Like intentionally finding immigrants to deport them and such?
Hell, when I talk about Quebec to my American friends, they say "So it's your Texas then?"
I'm from Quebec and reading all those comments saddens me. Why can't we respect each other...

I like how they cite FIFA regulations. Know what else in children's soccer goes against FIFA regulations? The field size, the goal size, and the children.

(they do in Quebec too) You can't understand if you don't put yourself in the mindset of the French in America. I mean, you guys make me defend something I don't even condone over here, I'm no independentist by any way shape or form. You're just so harsh and unwilling to empathise to the situation. You can't demand that Palestinians integrate into a culture they don't want. You can't demand the Georgians to do the same. You can't demand Hong Kong do the same, Taiwan, etc, etc. They all are a relatively small community comparatively to which they are faced with. Protecting the culture by means of language is a basic truism, that's why assimilation by language have always been used.
According to my father whose been to Canada several times, he told me the people there are really stuck up and more or less assholes to anyone who isn't from Quebec. While in Toronto for a month he said the people there hate French Canada because of the same reason, may not be that reason but who knows.
Regardless people that hate people from another place for no real reason are fucking idiots. I don't hate the other provinces and I'm from Québec. (And there's a lot of idiots from both Québec and the rest of the Canada) Also, that rule is pretty dumb since it wouldn't be safer for them to play without their turbans.
Hell, when I talk about Quebec to my American friends, they say "So it's your Texas then?"
Our Texas is Alberta though, since it's more conservative and it has oil. Sure Québec is more like Texas for it's immigration laws but people usually rarely make the comparison.
Tur ban ban
Sikh soldiers look awesome with them on. If these things can survive the throes of military combat, it won't hurt to let some kids wear them in a game of soccer.
they're strong enough that sikh's don't have to wear helmets on motorbykes
Fucking Quebec undermining my Canadian values.
I know this is way off topic but how much does a cop of coffee and beer( pint ) cost over there.?
It cost about 2 or 3$ for a coffee and 5-7 $ for a pint.
So much hate about that law, Even in Québec its considered silly and simply dumb. Calm the fuck down and stop thinking what your grampa or your friends say about the province is always true.
Stadaconé sounds better right ? Kanata also.
Kanata is meh, and I don't even know about the other.
Kanata is meh, and I don't even know about the other.
A french settlement in Canada.
It cost about 2 or 3$ for a coffee and 5-7 $ for a pint.
so sounds about same with beer here in B.C. but Coffee sounds like it cost more
they're strong enough that sikh's don't have to wear helmets on motorbykes
Well the Sikh faith was started by a Panjab warrior clan that came to dominate Northern India. They carry traditional knives as part of their religion and Turbans were probably intended to be protective in battle.
Usually Quebec is very liked but sometimes we just can't stop being dumb silly human beings.
"when in rome" is a horrible argument and most people who use it never even try to act accordingly when travelling abroad.
