We will make a second sun.
Lets just ignite Jupiter. It's not like anything bad could come from that
Wouldn't ocean-sized pools of acid water make the atmosphere also filled with acid gas to the point where everything could have been corroded away by it?
Generally, no, that's not how acid works, acids leave byproducts. If a skyscraper dissolves, there would be a lot of byproducts left over that wouldn't vanish into space as the atmosphere decays and should be visible. As well, human civilization has a tremendous impact on the terrain itself, even if you removed all the artificial construction. A highway overpass cut through a hill, a quarry cut into geometric shapes, or even the foundations of buildings all leave very visible marks that are clearly distinguishable from natural formations. For Mars to have had a human civilization that not only vanished, but vanished so utterly that there is no direct evidence of life of any kind, let alone intelligent life, let alone human life, is way beyond plausibility.
What IF Mankind came from mars, they were aware of their planets dire situation and knew that Earth was the next best choice was to move, but maybe something went wrong and all was lost over time and man had to "Re-Evolve" Technologically
What if the the Mars cities are all just under an invisibility cloak like the Gorilla City from Justice League? And it's filled with gorillas? But smart gorillas with lasers and hover bikes. Like in Justice League. What if Justice League were real? Who are your top five favorite Justice League characters? Which gorilla do you like more, Grodd or Ultra Humanite? Please respond ASAP.
Its weird, and kinda sad to think there might have been a civilization like ours on Mars.
Like our civilization? Not very likely. [editline]24th January 2014[/editline] Although I won't deny the possibility of finding fossils and such buried beneath the surface of Mars. It could very well be possible, maybe in the form of crude oil. But as for martian Guitar Hero controllers and plastic wrapping or entire capitols buried in there? I don't think so. Your high hopes for the closest dusty old planet to us is inspiring though.
i think the most interesting imaginary discovery would be evidence of a civilization, but a primitive one that didn't get very far and was wiped out by natural causes early in their development like maybe they got to the mars equivalent of the bronze age before dying out
