Assuming your "generation" means you're in middle school along with them, the fact that your immediate response is a stern "fuck you" basically speaks for itself. You're essentially trying to say "no u."
Not quite, class of 2013. Yeah, because teenagers are the only people in the world to have ever said "Fuck you".
Kids just don't have a lot of common sense. That's what a lot of these articles come down to.
Yeah, you could have been born in the Middle Ages where everyone died of disease, worked their asses off, and whore'd out their children for money! Maybe you'd prefer the early Industrial Revolution when kids were being shipped off to work at factories for little pay, where many of whom died on the job! The Holocaust was nice, with kids all over Europe being mutilated and buried in mass shallow graves. Rwanda perhaps? No, shut up and stop complaining. There is nothing wrong with this generation. Kids have been jerks since the dawn of man. Allow me to quote Socrates: Be glad you don't live in a generation that had kids killing and being killed like crazy and stop taking your life for granted just because a couple of kids threw trash in a fountain. You're not special, you're not better than anyone else, you're a kid, just like them. Grow up.
Wow just... Wow. Wow. Hats off and a medal for you sir.
Should have thrown paper planes at wall
Memorials hardly teach history. They teach patriotism. You think the 9/11 memorial says "Perhaps we should have reconsidered our foreign policy in the Arabian peninsula and removed support for Israel" on it? Fuck no.
Because a memorial to victims of a terrorist attack isn't historical until it blames America? e: I mean putting aside the fact that's a highly-contentious statement and historically-speaking rather dubious for a public work to hold up as "THE TRUTH", there's actually a lot more to historical events than whose fault it is. I've been to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum (and bear in mind that's an entire museum): while there's some focus on geo-political causes (according to the museum, the US nuked Hiroshima/Nagasaki as a show of strength against the Soviets), the majority of the museum focuses on the victims, impact and aftermath. That's history.
I don't care so much that they disrespected a memorial, but littering is bad. Are they that lazy that they can't just wait to throw away their trash? I don't understand why people think it's so cool to litter. A fucking shame, that's what it is.
there should probably be better distractions so kids actually want to learn, I mean fair enough it's bad to do this but it's also the state's job to teach them why it's bad
To be honest, being a middle schooler and especially being, "Bored" Is no excuse for disrespecting a site like that.
I wish someone would've hauled off and knocked out one of those little shits.
Let's execute them for being bored. Maybe the people who maintain the museum can take this and make it more interesting.
What's the big deal with the 9/11 bandwagon ? It was just another catastrophe, why would it get threaten differently ? People need to get their heads out their asses and get over it.
Every generation has it's idiots, stop going: "Back in mah days the kids were nice and it was all rainbows and sunshine"
Yeah the dudes who did Columbine were older than I was. So it's not like only people born after me are shitheads. Not even mentioning all the other shit that went on before the 90s.
And this is why I wish I wasn't a part of this generation.
flick the primer so hard it fires who needs guns anyways
You do realise that without the support of a chamber around the casing, the casing would explode and frag, severely maiming the poor little shit that thought it would be a good idea.
What's the big deal with the 9/11 bandwagon ? It was just another catastrophe, why would it get threaten differently ? People need to get their heads out their asses and get over it.
This is just my opinion, but that's the dumbest thing I've heard all day. And I hear a lot of dumb shit every day. It wasn't like the monument that was built by and for people that cared about 9/11 and were probably affected by it went to the kids and the kids decided to throw trash at it to make it go away. No, the kids went to this monument and littered it up and disrespected it. While what is being said may not be so, the general outrage over this is completely and totally warranted in my opinion. And I hate it when people worship 9/11. Why even post? Just to show off your sense of anti-americanism?
Some food for thought: Now honestly, although the place was particularily touchy, but it doesn't surprise me that middle school kids were goofing off on a field trip. I remember going to wartime museums way back in the day when I was in middle school and I was bored to death. It was only until I was older, did I truly realize and understand the gravity and magnitude of the world wars, and why they were so important that we remember. They are just too young to truly understand why they are there.
Littering is hardly a remedy for a being bored. Being bored is certainly no excuse for being disrespectful, either.
Agreed. Fucking kids these days.
Kids have always been little shits
I guess in a way the same can be said for what happened in World War 2. even though it wasn't in our lifetimes, parents and maybe even grandparents life time. we still cant take in to consideration how bad it was.
I hate my God damn generation!
Not quite, class of 2013. Yeah, because teenagers are the only people in the world to have ever said "Fuck you".
Then I'm not entirely sure why you're getting offended in the first place. You're 17. This is about middle schoolers. Not you. My point is that the guy says "kids these days" and you get up in arms about "your generation" when that wasn't what this was about or his comment. You then say it's, what, the parents' fault that younger people are doing stupid stuff? Funny, because I thought there was a choice in these things. You don't "inherit delinquency," that's ridiculous.

If some 30 year old was kicked out doing the same thing, people wouldn't say "oh, fucking adults these days", they'd say "that guy is a fucking asshole".
Fuck you guys and your "kids these days" bullshit.
Children not respecting a memorial for an event that wasn't even in their lifetimes and was just barely in most of ours.
I can tell math isn't your strong suit, but let me help you out here.. Middle school students are between 12 and 15 years old. The 9/11 attacks were 10 years ago.
Why would a kid have bullets with him? Like, what would he do it with? Throw it so hard that it would kill someone?
He's using 100% more bullets that way and he saves money!
While this wasn't a good place to do it, kids are kids. They do what they feel like doing. You guys say you would knock them over the head but in reality you wouldn't, because they are kids.
No, if it was my kid he'd get a slap on the back of his head for being a fucking idiot.
Can we just say it's always sad no matter what generation to see anyone disrespecting a memorial, monument, etc? Like someone else said, it's not the monument itself that's the problem, it's the reason they were doing it. Because they were bored? I dunno about you guys but I've never once felt bored and then decided to throw shit at a memorial.
I hate my God damn generation!
I hate when people say this
I don't mean to point out the hypocrisy but why are you all getting rattled up about this? I'm sure each and every single one of, you including myself, has mocked 9/11 in one way or another. Hell, maybe more than once. That's disrespectful too and you're no better than the kids throwing trash in the fountain.

I bet all the 9/11 JOKERS wouldn't acutally disrespect the memorial right in front of it.
Oh come on. Kids do disrespectful, stupid shit to provoke authorities. Big news. This has never happened before. Except every generation ever. I know yall americans have this really huge boner for 9/11, but kids disrespecting memorials isn't really a new or big thing, and you should calm down. A lot.
