Anger: Junji ito was Involved with Silent Hills before Cancelling

This is the kind of shit that make people lose faith in video games.
The more I hear about how amazing Silent Hills was gonna be, the more I grow to hate Konami. I love the Silent Hill franchise, and it sucks seeing what could've been the best Silent Hill game to date be cancelled
what is stopping them from working with another company? if not silent hills, then a new series.

Konami has accrued enough negative PR in a few months to last them decades.
Of course they cancelled silent hills. Silent hills was a GOOD idea, and we know how much konami hates logic and reasoning.
sure you hadn't?

Nope.
what is stopping them from working with another company? if not silent hills, then a new series.
All of the resources and the engine it was built for belong to Konami. Del Toro does not trust video game publishers any more and has given up entirely on them. The timeframe where Kojima, Del Toro, and Junji Ito were free enough from other projects to collaborate together has passed; and even if it wasn't it was Kojima's massive clout with the purse-holders which allowed even the possibility to be entertained in the first place.
This was a lightning strike. It will never happen again.
I hear this shit and I just think, yeah they're a business, okay, but do they really just not care about their legacy or impact they have on media?
Jesus fucking Christ.
I NEED to know what went through the heads of the people at Konami that cancelled this. Their is just no way that any sane person would be able to do this.
PULL THE LEAVER all they care about is quick cash grab on the mobile market which one day may bite them in the ass and all they will be left with is there health spaès,.
The real horror is that Konami could even do such a thing. It's scary.
I know you guys are all salty over this but I'm still optimistic about the Silent Hill pachinko game being the next evolution in horror gaming
Junji Ito made the horror mangas with the spirals right?
If he's who I'm thinking of then this game could've been a new favorite of mine. I'm a huge sucker for good scares
I never really paid attention to this stuff before since I hadn't played Silent Hill before but if this is true I'm kinda disappointed. I'd definitely have given it a try knowing that Ito was involved. I don't play horror games simply because they're rather boring or rely on jump scares but Ito writes some really good horror.

That's Uzumaki and yes, that'd be him.
They had already spent too much on MGSV, they weren't going to start on that before finishing MGSV. So yeah.
so delay it and wait and see how MGS 5 performs (hint: it performed really fucking well), then go from there. extremely obvious business decision
Breaking news: Jesus was planned to come back to this world until Konami canceled his appointment.
Instead they made a jesus slot machine to be sold only in japan to honor his name.

did mgs5 really make up the 80 million dollars in development costs? last i heard it barely made half that
I never had heard of him before this.
real classics
JunJi Ito drew and wrote an amazing, auto-biographical horror manga about himself, stuck in the horrifying situation of [sp]getting a cat.[/sp]
It's golden, read it;

I remember, when SH was still in development, Kojima posting a thing on Twitter where he said he's visiting Ito for a dinner and everyone and their mother shit their pants because they thought it means Ito is going to be participating in SH development but I think someone from official circles went like "Nah, it's literally just a friendly dinner meeting" so everyone calmed down.
And now we get to know that was the actual scenario. Truly a kick from the grave.
This confirmation doesn't make me feel anything.
...why don't I feel anything? Why do I feel empty?
What have YOU DONE, KONAMI?
Hey guys! Pachinko machines are awesome!
:suicide:
So if I understand this correctly, some of the biggest masters in horror were all collaborating on a high budget AAA game title, and that happened to be a Silent Hill game. Konami confirmed for the most horrifying thing in existence.
You don't understand, it's meta-horror.
They realised that the game couldn't have been any scarier as a game, but could get more terrifying and dreadful by being cancelled. You should thank Konami for the greatest horror experience of all time, free of charge.

It actually would be absolutely fucking retarded if it turned out all of this was part of a PR stunt. del Torro, the fire, everything.
Here's a fucking quote for you.
The director had only just started posting on Twitter last month. He had previously discussed meeting Ito in Japan: "He was very, very shy, and I kept slapping him on the back, which was not very Japanese. Junji Ito is the only author of comics that has scared the shit out of me. When the shark takes the stairs in Gyo, grows the mechanical crab legs chasing them up the stairs, I literally threw away the comic and yelled, 'NO!' I was so absolutely scared."

Here's a fucking quote for you.
it could've been...
"Silent hills was gonna cure fucking cancer"
Fuck you konami
I've never played Silent Hill, but I'm honestly really sorry this happened. Something like this shouldn't happen to any fandom. Reminds me of the Megaman Legends 3 fiasco on a larger scale.
