Who cares about the moon though? That's not a big deal considering it's been 42 years since it was done. I want them to go to Mars and then push it and go beyond.
In before China "accidentally" lands on top of the American flag.

Oh man they better not fuck up Generals 2.
Next thing you'll see is these Chinese painting a giant red Mao face on the moon.
I hope there'll be another space race
Unlikely, but one can dream, amirite?
The title's a little misleading, i thought they'd actually got someone up there right now.
Still cool though, looking forward to seeing how it goes. Didn't a bunch of rockets explode after takeoff recently or something, though?

Fuck the title made me think they just landed or some shit.
How the hell can you misread that badly.

Well seeing as the US has completely scrapped NASA in the past years. I'm glad China is doing something.
How the hell can you misread that badly.
He changed the thread title to make it clear. It originally just said "China CONFIRMS manned moon landing".

OP why you make such misleading name
why
Well seeing as the US has completely scrapped NASA in the past years. I'm glad China is doing something.
I half expect that if they get a man on the moon... he'll get stuck and die, that, or crash.
sorry China but, stop making half assed shit that breaks down all the time and is a blatant copy.

Ahh, there we are.
meh america would do the same if NASA hadn't been crippled by funding cuts.
p sure the US would own the middle east if that was true
we'd just put a military base on it
Clearly the Chinese know the secret of Apollo 18 and are going to launch the alien space rocks at us.
sorry China but, stop making half assed shit that breaks down all the time and is a blatant copy.
Earlier today, China unveiled their "Saturday 5" Rocket that they claim will deliver a human being to the surface of the moon as part of their "A Polo" program.

This just in: China's "Saturday 5" rocket crash landed on the moon, killing everyone inside.
THIS JUST IN: USA CONFIRMS THAT THEY WILL PLACE A MAN ON THE MOON IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
READ ALL ABOUT HOW SHUTTING DOWN THE SPACE PROGRAM "WAS JUST A BIG MISTAKE"
If there's one thing that'll get America of their arses it's China try to one-up them. But then again, NASA's funding has been dropping for years, and it's a case of them not missing it until it was gone. People couldn't care less about NASA until they removed the space program, at which point everyone suddenly wanted it back. If the space program had survived, people would have gone back to not caring again.
FUCKING REDS GOING TO STEAL OUR MOON, WE GOT TO BEAT THEM USA USA USA
Good on them, at least someone is doing it.

I would imagine that China will be increasing it's CSA budget by quite a lot over the next few years if they are really serious about this.

Still, I'm pretty sure the US could put alot more money into that budget.
Considering the US military budget is $600 billion.
You've got to admit though, if as much resources were put into NASA as they were back in the days, we would be alot closer to putting a man on mars.
isnt this one of the events that started outlaw star

They got serious with their railroad project and pumped in more money than in its military. So hopefully we'll see 100 billion space budgets :v:

"Now, where did we leave the oxygen tanks?"
It better not break apart while flying towards the moon!
And get some HD cameras into the damn ship
I agree as long as they actually use some decent film equipment that would be amazing... The last thing we need is someone spending billions of dollars to get to the moon and whipping out their cell phone to take a picture.
They can't even get UAVs or Trains right.
I have a feeling that the shuttle launch is going to end in disaster.
