Father and young daughter killed by reckless speeding and texting 17 year old in a Cadillac Escalade

I'm just amazed there is a 6 page thread calling out for his head when he had a 4 hour lapse of judgement in to [admittedly childish and cruel] denial and then redacted it after being talked to seriously about it.
He's not doing it anymore. He regrets doing it. He feels bad for those who died, and acknowledges his brother fucked up. What more do you guys want, a suicide video?

He's obviously a dumb fucking cunt, he looks old enough to have the maturity to not respond with extreme disrespect toward the REAL victims family. Why the fuck do you keep following the suspects brother and posting it here, he's a huge fucking idiot and should shut his fucking yap while the law destroys his piece of shit brothers life. Obviously people shouldn't troll him, but they are because of his complete lack of respect. He should have a fucking car run him the fuck over he seems to be worth a shit ton less then the innocent people that were killed by his brother. But this thread isn't even about him.

He shut it at noon. Facepunch hasn't since. This thread is a witch hunt over a perfectly normal but this time publicized occurrence, and I simply am attempting to talk sense into people.
And age is no indication of capability to handle subjects like your brother being responsible for vehicular manslaughter, and then being harassed repeatedly by seemingly endless random facebook accounts.
He shut it at noon. Facepunch hasn't since.
Because the people here are outraged that someone can be that dumb, stop defending the moron.
Because the people here are outraged that someone can be that dumb, stop defending the moron.
Stop calling out for his blood, then. His responses were only to people that were directly harassing him, and they affected no one, and were deleted within hours when he came to his senses.
and I simply am attempting to talk sense into people.
Don't waste your time, if all it takes is a few posts on the internet for him to show such great disrespect toward the victims then he deserves no sympathy. Again, no matter how hard he/his brother/his family try, they aren't the victims; the dumb assholes recklessness killed an innocent child and her father and tore apart a family to an extent that they will never know, he deserves no sympathy.
What more do you guys want, a suicide video?
Sure. I need something to eat popcorn with.
Stop calling out for his blood.
Much like the other people posting about it here, I am simply stating how outraged I am by his audacity.
rerereading the report and the thread

short recap, driving at 80 mph and texting, and as he did this, he didn't die, he was simply arrested for going over the limit and texting
honestly I don't see how anyone can support someone doing that. Even if it was my brother, I'd call them a damn fool for it, I'd still love them, but it's clear it was an insanely stupid mistake. A mistake that's VERY easy to prevent no less, he's no vicitim, and obviously needs punishment, regardless if he killed someone.
if you can't understand that texting while driving is bad, then you are genuinely stupid.
Sure. I need something to eat popcorn with.
so unfunny and dumb it's insane
he deserves punishment and justice, not death and harassing. He's a very dumb person and made a very dumb mistake, but he's still human.

from the looks of this image, he's a paint sniffing bum. Lets say they man accidentally kills someone by making a really stupid decision. He still deserves proper justice, not harassment and death just because he just so happened to do some really stupid shit in his life.

His family is very much victims. Are you accusing them of manufacturing this situation? This is a tragedy for them.
I won't argue that it is more severe than the tragedy faced by the people killed and their family, but it is tragic nonetheless.
This isn't a game of 'who's more hurt'.
Everyone's hurt in this. You people are only causing more pain, and no benefit.
Give me an argument for the benefit to whom you call the true victims, then. If I called them, and told them that people were endlessly harassing the family of the person who accidentally ran down their family members, and not the person who actually did it, I don't think they'd be any happier about their situation. This vindication is only for your own gratification, not theirs. Don't make this about them, because it's not. It's about your refusal to accept that people act illogical in the face of calamity, and say things they don't mean. Even when they redact it, you can't accept.
I don't understand what more you want.

By discussing it on a public forum I'm not "hurting" anyone. I have no interest in contacting anybody. He is being harassed because of his ignorant / arrogant comments. Obviously it's a situation where everyone loses. But I have no remorse for the spoiled brat wannabe gangster in a huge expensive car driving like a douche bag fucking moron, it's no secret to teenagers that if they speed they can create a bad situation. The dude making the shitface comments show that regardless of the situation, he's already an asshole; his comments were way too far to be acceptable, he only deleted them when he was faced with rebuttal over them. He seems old enough to know that what he said was beyond ridiculous.

Actually, he deleted them at my advice, once I'd explained that the origin of the harassment wasn't local but abroad, due to extensive and unnecessary coverage on the internet of it.
He doesn't seem to give a shit what the internet thinks, he is just done with it, and acknowledged to me that it was the wrong thing to say and that he felt bad for the people his brother killed.
Anyways, I'm done with this. I have a 8 page law research paper due tomorrow morning.
PS: You people is a broad generalization, reaching out to the people on this forum who made threads on /b/ and reddit mostly, intending to spread the harassment and publicity as far as unnecessarily possible. Also to those who sent him hateful messages, and posted them proudly on this thread as if encouraging others to do the same. You're just the person who has chosen to argue directly with me, so I am responding to you accordingly.

are you seriously trying to justify idiocy of that level
i mean all i want is for him to get smacked in the face with a leather belt [sub]and forced to work in a salt mine but hey[/sub]
i mean seriously you cannot excuse idiocy of that level.

Understanding basic psychology, and that he'd only found out about it hours before, and that within an hour of finding out, the harassment began, I can understand it. I can empathize with it. It was reprehensible, but I can't say I definitely would not have responded the same hours after I found out that my sibling had accidentally mowed down two people and then immediately began to be harassed about it.
The REDRUMMURDER comments and the general criticism of him and his brother began well before he made any such comments.

Just because you got buddy buddy with him over the internet doesn't mean he isn't a huge fucking moron. If he's sympathetic he shouldn't have posted showing such huge disrespect toward the family and threatening other individuals at the same time. I could give fuck all about him because he didn't do anything, he's just a moron. My point was that he, nor is family is a victim, it is unfortunate but they aren't dealing with a dead torn apart family because of some dumb arrogant kids actions. Again the kid is obviously a spoiled cunt and though he was too fucking cool, look where it got him. I'm happy it outrages enough people and the law will be dealing with him accordingly, no matter how anyone feels about it, he's fucked; and he deserves it.

Being an adult is about not caving in to childish ways and acting like a huge moron fucking asshole in a sensitive situation. Even if he did feel like acting like a douche he didn't have to literally directly insult the victims. I don't know why you think it's cool to try and justify it. Stupid people do stupid shit and karma takes care of them.

no you can't excuse what he said
"LOL PWN'D ILL TURN YOU INTO DAT FLAT KID WHO DIED EARLIER"
i mean jesus christ what kind of fucking environment do you have to be to think that it's even a good idea to joke about that when you're a direct relation to the sheer fucknugget who directly caused the accident out of his own goddamn negligence and could have easily averted it if he was any sort of competent driver???
I didn't say I excused it. It was very much the wrong thing to say, and he redacted it.
[editline]8th April 2012[/editline]
I can empathize and understand why a person may have resorted to such action.
Anyways, if you want my arguments, read the last 3 pages. This is coming full circle yet again.
[editline]8th April 2012[/editline]
And to answer your question, an environment different than the one you grew up in.
That's all it takes for someone to naturally resort to something you find reprehensible, is a different upbringing.

He's a douchebag moron no matter what angle you look at it from, wrong is wrong. The only thing that shows how stupid you are, is your actions.
Well, That's just plain awful. I mean, 80 in a 45 zone

You're entitled to your opinion, gained through no investigation and comprised from out of context quotes.
I'll stick with mine, which I gained through a long conversation and investigation, and adding as much context as possible to what I knew.
Just when i couldn't think humanity sinks any lower, if I died on a cruise ship accident I can bet this would be a post on some twits facebook
"zomg some guy died on a boat i was in, i was super scared"
ugh

And you're welcome to do so! I respect it however this is a forum for debate, so obviously no matter what anyone says it will come under scrutiny. I am happy you can come up with intellectual responses, despite the fact the I disagree with many details of them.

Well, you're quite the psychologist. There's always someone who will rush to the defense of the indefensible, whether it be the actions of a serial killer or the antisocial rantings of a jerk who feels wronged because people speak harshly of his brother who just killed two people.
Environment does not excuse actions, though it may explain them. Regardless, any normally adjusted person would find his comments reprehensible, regardless of their environment.
Nivek's comments are right on the money.
Actually I'm studying law, and intend to practice as a defense attorney.

Ugh
Ugh
I'm sure you'll be saying 'ugh' when you need one at some point. I wasn't claiming that this was an exercise of my prowess, I was just correcting him calling me a psychologist because my analysis does not originate as much in psychology as sociology and law history.
[editline]8th April 2012[/editline]
Aside from calling me a psychologist, his post was basically my intended career's job description.
Ugh
UGGGHHH
funny because he kind of actually investigated and tested the ground first and got his side
like an attorney would

instead of assuming things, trying to understand both sides is the way to go
heated debate
An explanation of someones actions is not a justification.
