looks like he's surrenduring
I don't think that's entirely true. It varies with location. If you have an inner city school equipped with metal detectors because they have a history of violence there, the odds are different than in some rural-ass school a mile past nowhere that hasn't even seen a fist fight in ten years.
Well still, even if the school has metal detectors, the odds are still higher than any lower grade (like middle school and elem school especially, and possibly even college) school.

Fair point. I read your post saying the chances of some kid having a gun were "rather high" and missed the edit.
A science lesson is a horrible excuse. I actually think this could be a REAL drill, but not for elementary school kids or middle school kids. With high schools being the way they are today, shootings are real events that occur, and people should know what to do in cases such as this one.
Every school I've ever attended, any drill that wasn't a fire drill was pretty much lock the door, shut the curtains, and hide in a corner. Sort of a, "Shut up and hope they pick the other kids first," kind of deal. Be interesting to see how people would react to the sound of gunshots from on the campus, things would probably change pretty quickly. At the same time though, there's really no good way to go about getting that kind of data.

okay enough you guys are obviously idiots
wha wha WHAAA?
He's too hardcore and hardened by his terribly harsh life to be able to understand why seeing a favored teacher being killed is traumatizing.

no one else is laughing
Any hopes of the school getting good ratings were really shot dead.
I laughed.
How the shit is that a science lesson?
Social Science, Just look at what this experiment has done!

Yeah, now they'll be a lot more composed when somebody shoots them in the back of the head.

yeah
That wasn't a very good idea, now was it?
Fucking retards! What where they thinking!?
I remember when our head teacher pretended to give everyone in the class a detention to show some drama skills in our drama lesson, but how the fuck is this science!

apparently they think its for the good of humanity
My science teacher back in Ohio did a similar thing to us, he had some guy come in and steal something while he was out and for the rest of the class we gathered clues and evidence.
This seems to be a more juristic one though.
How the shit is that a science lesson?
FYI it's a social experiment.
How the shit is that a science lesson?
An old teacher of mine had this happen to him in one of his classes at University. The idea of it was to show people what you recall happening isn't always what actually happened. Like, more or less no one could describe the guy who came in, when he came in, how he left, how many shots he fired etc.
Still, to do this to children is inexcusable.
I can see what they had in mind, perhaps it would work on an older age group. But to do it to 10-13 year olds was obviously not thought through.

Not in the UK, we haven't had a school shooting for fourteen years.
