OP's avatar really fits the situation.
[editline]04:45PM[/editline] Doesn't mean you shouldn't be prepared...
Kinda like saying "there hasn't been a big school fire at my school in 10 years, therefore we don't need to train our kids on how to act if it does happen"
Kinda like saying "there hasn't been a big school fire at my school in 10 years, therefore we don't need to train our kids on how to act if it does happen"
Exactly.
Bullshit, your entire country? How
Because we have strict gun laws. Gun Laws that came in effect due to the Dunblane Massacre, actually.
“Pupils were missing the bus home because they were consoling each other and being sick in the lavatories. Another girl had a panic attack."
No wonder some of the physical reactions were so adverse. These children were no older than 13, showing them what appeared to be a man being shot and killed must have traumatised them to some degree.

Wow, Evesham is like 30 mins from me. Shit is fucked up.
An old teacher of mine had this happen to him in one of his classes at University. The idea of it was to show people what you recall happening isn't always what actually happened. Like, more or less no one could describe the guy who came in, when he came in, how he left, how many shots he fired etc. Still, to do this to children is inexcusable.
Something like that is pretty common, actually, although I've never heard of it being done with a violent situation. I've heard of it just being a couple of guys running in, taking something, and running out.
I read up to.. [release]There was a delay of 10 minutes before weeping pupils were taken back to the assembly[/release] ..and started laughing. Seriously, that's fucked, hahaha. Poor kids.
great another flamewar....IM ON THE BLUE TEAM!!
Autobalance
Autobalance
:v: OT: Shits fucked up.
Dude that would have been totally rad if that happened to me in 6th grade.
*boom boom* teacher: oh my god he's fucking dead 5 minutes later teacher: lolol it's a joke, learn to take one. class dismissed what the shit
Live fire exercise! Best training you could ask for!
Holy shit, That's fucking awesome stunt for a school to do.
This ridiculously stupid, don't these people think?
So what was the science experiment? This doesn't sound like it could be used as ANYTHING, at least to a group of 10~13-year-olds. Though it does remind me of some of the funny pretend shit my principal/teachers did in high school. Once my principal came into a classroom to hand the teacher some papers and on his way out one of the other teachers in the school suddenly jumped him and they wrestled to the ground right in the middle of the classroom. Then they got up, bowed, and left the room to a round of applause. Oh those were the days... :v:
which idiot came up with the idea? HE should be shot
If this happened in a highschool, everyone would scatter like ants, some of them might even run home, I know I would.
I'd hope by high school you could figure out it was fake...except for the girls....I could see them just taking off
I'd hope by high school you could figure out it was fake...except for the girls....I could see them just taking off
Not really easy to differentiate between blanks and real bullets
They should have used a real gun and then challenged the kids to save the teacher from death.
That's an awful idea, there's no doubt they wouldn't try to help at all
It said the role-playing exercise had been intended to teach Year 8 pupils how to investigate, collect facts and analyse evidence.
This is just mind-numbingly bad.
Really wish my school would do something like this, but to one of the most hated teachers and see who cheers.
What kind of sicko cheers because someone gets shot? "Herp derp, my teacher gives me homework everyday, I wish he were dead." Of course exceptions could include major terrorist.
Sad to see that in 3 pages Facepunch failed to see the link with the series "The Pretender" http://www.tv.com/the-pretender/show/109/summary.html In one episode Jarod was a school teacher and pretended to get shot, in front of a group of students (17-20). To teach them about psychology and how well people memorize facts when traumatized. Teachers of this school probably got the idea from that show.
Haha that's fucking horrible But it didn't happen to me so it is also hilarious [editline]11:25PM[/editline] I hope none of the students are scarred for life
Now there's gonna be a REAL school shooting, and the students will think it's a joke and get pissed. Or, they could think it was a joke and beat the everloving shit out of the real gunman, which would be awesome.
Kids are fucking pussies these days. They need to grow some balls and reflect on how they could make themselves useful if something like this really did happen, rather than start crying or run around like headless chickens. These are the people that disgust me, not the teachers. If some asshole decides it would be a good idea to do some target practice in school, everyone would benefit from knowing how to handle the situation. Oh, I'm the dumb one? So its far more logical to run around like moving targets rather than work together to take down the gunman?
