• Apple Acknowledges iPhone 5 Camera Problem, Says You’re Holding It Wrong
I actually thought they just changed the lens and put a new processing chip (or whatever it's called) inside. They produce very similar results, with the iPhone 5 having a bit more aggressive noise reduction than the 4S - I assumed they used the same sensor.
New sensor is by Sony. I'm assuming that there was just a poor communication between companies leading to this happening. But it's caused by a combination between the two. I just know for a fact that the iphone5 uses a Sony sensor, which hasn't been confirmed if the 4s does. The shift should just be caused by poor micro lenses however.
it uses a different sensor, so the optics were not adjusted properly to the sensor causing a magenta shift due to the wide angle nature of the lens it's not abnormal, but certainly a problem that is from apple relying on old optics while adapting a different camera sensor.
It's sad that you know more about the actual problem than Apple support does.
They aren't bad phones.
I never said it was a bad device, however I will point out you can get a phone that does all that at a cheaper price, which is my point. It may not do the "nice looks" thing (which is subjective and not really a solid point), but that isn't worth the money to me
Small, quick, great screen, iTunes, iMessage, more apps (?), class leading camera (well 4s anyways), sleek, not buggy, stuff like that They aren't bad phones. I got mine because I like the form factor (not many androids of similar size), great camera, not having to make a new music library, easy to use and learn UI, and the fantastic screen that's 3:2 ratio. It's not quite the pointless device you are making it out to be
Small isn't always better in phones, but it depends what you want. Quick is a fair point, however as before, many phones are also quick. Great screen, I'll give you that - they do look superb. There are ways of getting your iTunes library onto an android, say, pretty easily. I'd do it if I had a big enough SD card! iMessage is a bit of a desperate point, there are many free apps on any phone OS that do the exact same thing. This is the kind of thing Apple does, it makes you think shit like iMessage which can be found free anywhere else is groundbreaking stuff. Not buggy? I'd have to disagree. My mother has an iPad, many issues with it so far (mostly Apple server bugs, to be honest). Don't forget Siri and Apple Maps. Not exactly bug free as you make out to be. You're also forgetting the major drawbacks I mentioned earlier Class leading camera? Where did you get that from? I'd hardly call it class leading, just take a look at the actual specs on Wiki or a tech review site, then compare to the Lumina 800, or the S3 All in all, my point is there are cheaper alternatives that often do better than the iPhone X. If you're willing to fork out the cash for that, then so be it, it's your money. I still wouldn't understand why though :v:
Well thanks for trying, but $200 isn't a lot for me, and the feature set culmination isn't something I found offered in other phones personally. It's pretty much what I wanted and I can't think of anything else I'd prefer for it to have, save for a larger battery. But androids are cool phones, just personally not for me <3
To each his own! I'm glad we could have a civilised discussion about Apple vs X without starting an argument, this must be a rare occasion :v:
What exactly is there to like about Apple? I don't see the appeal
Until you use one you can't really know. Basically I was a huuuuuge PC fanboy around 3 years back, even made the 'macs suck' argument.. owned an LG viewty which was past it's sell-by date, and a few of my friends had iPhones which just seemed unbelievable compared to anything else on the market at the time. It was the definite choice, the HTC Hero and comparable devices seemed mega-fail in comparison, in terms of response time, apps, build quality, etc. So I bit the bullet and grabbed an iPhone 3GS, which was pretty much the second best decisions I've ever made. I still use the same one to this day, two and a half years later and it's never experienced slowdown. Soon after I bought it, my opinion of Apple had changed, maybe they weren't so bad, and everything I'd read online before using it myself was bullshit. Still I hadn't used there desktop offerings which is where the problems apparently lay. About 2 years ago, the time came to acquire a laptop, and doing a games degree, I was considering various high end gaming laptops for around £1600, yet it sort of crossed my mind that my Desktop PC was more than adequate and acquiring a less bulky, more portable laptop with a better battery that would last longer might be a better option. Two of my friends that I lived with had MacBook Pro's and were eager to offer me the opportunity to sample the features they offered. At the time their devices were at least 2 years old, yet I was impressed how they started up about as quickly as they did originally, and loaded programs without any slowdown at all. Also impressive was the super smooth scrolling, the glass touchpad, the screen quality (so fucking nice), the battery life and overall build, not to mention the fact that they were still performing this well after 2 years of solid use (one of my friends used it as his main, everyday machine). So once again I bit the bullet, turning down £1600 Rock Extreme & Alienwares for a £1300 MacBook Air. Sufficed to say this was probably the best decision of my life. For the first time ever, I was entirely satisfied by a laptop, as it completely exceeded my expectations for owning one (I previously used many laptops first hand, and there was always something shitty about them, despite being decent models). To this day, two years on, there has never been anything I dislike about the MacBook. It runs, I use it everyday, and it runs perfectly. It's so light I take it everywhere and it still manages 6 hours running anything. I know that if I'd got the Alienware it'd be disappointingly outdated by now, and probably require the brick charger at all times, and if I'd got an EEE PC or something else, it'd also be shit at this point. But no, this Mac is still as amazing as day 1, much like the phone, and still munches Photoshop, any other software I need on-the-go, and the glass touchpad and screen are exactly as amazing as I'd expected them to be. So yeah, that changed my shitty opinion entirely.
Fix your shit Apple, PLEASE.
Fix your shit Apple, PLEASE.
Maybe in iPhone 6
The only reason I would ever buy an iPhone again is because of the OS, it's nice and simple, however after using android for about two years now iOS just seems boring to me and the real problem I have with iPhones is the hardware vs price point it just doesn't seem worth it, however I can understand if you'd buy an iPhone for the OS, but other than that I really see no reason to buy an iPhone.

I like the battery life, screen, ease of use,and sleekness of their phones. I have never owned an iPhone, but have plenty of friends that have iPhones. They are not perfect, and do get buggy after a long time, but I feel every one of my phones start acting weird when you come close to your new upgrade. I have had problems with android devices (Google Nexus S 4G, HTC Hero) with getting music and navigating through the music player. It's always been slow to load for me, and the GUI kinda sucks compared to iTunes for iPhone (atleast imo). The calendar is a little hard to use and set dates and reminders, but otherwise I loved my android devices. I just broke my Google Nexus S 4G, so I have to deal with a crappy palm pre for now. I am considering an iPhone 4S to replace my phone and my iPod touch. Now that everybodys trying to subsidize their iPhone 5 purchase by selling their iPhone 4, they are coming down to a reasonable price.
I'm starting to notice apple going downhill since Steve's death and I'm worried about that
Why would you be worried about that? did you invest in the company

It's wonderful tech, so long as it's the right price. On that note, to scope talking about his macbook, I'm sure he didn't spend macbook price on another laptop before. The argument goes on about how you can get X tech for a cheaper price if you go to another company, but I wonder where his previous laptops stood compared to the tech of the mac.

I'm not saying Apple is a bad company (in my opinion) because their products are complete shit (because they aren't complete shit), but because I really don't agree with how they do business, and the way they brand themselves. Sure, it works, but it doesn't work for me. I think their hardware's pretty good, though the software (and especially price) doesn't agree with me. My mom just bought a laptop half the price of a compable Macbook Pro, and it looks pretty nice, while being superior in all aspect - save for maybe battery life, but we'll see. If the battery life is comparable to my brother's laptop, it's up there at least.
I don't care about battery life at all brand new laptop or not, I turn straight to panic mode if I'm unplugged
I don't care about battery life at all brand new laptop or not, I turn straight to panic mode if I'm unplugged
I'd like to get 5 hours out of a laptop, my current one only gives me 2 hours and ~20 minutes max, and it's rather the exception than the rule, that there's enough plugs for everyone in the class. That's pretty much the appeal I see in a Mac (other than maybe the touchpad and screen), they consistently get good battery life, without losing much performance. The U36's from ASUS have about the same battery life, though, and they're thinner - and cheaper. The screens aren't the best, though, and the touchpad doesn't match up. We'll hopefully see that change with the new Windows 8 touchpad requirements.
its art you plebs ugh you wouldn't understand
"You're holding it wrong" That's the same shit they said with the 3GS when people had reception problems because of a poorly placed antenna.
"You're holding it wrong" That's the same shit they said with the 3GS when people had reception problems because of a poorly placed antenna.
dont worry apple iPhone 5s will fix it and introduce a new problem that the next 1 will fix
I want to buy iPhone 4 not because "IT IZ APPEL. I NEED TO BEY DIZ" but because iOS is much better than shitty Symbian. I fucking hate my Nokia C7, lags as hell, and Symbian sucks.

The 808 Pureview and other newer devices not using an outdated architecture and low clock rate are pretty fast.
Ehh, it's mostly the processors fault. But the Windows Phone system, I have read that it has a low number of applications available, and system itself isn't that good. I like the iOs because it is fast and easy to use, but no ideas about Windows Phone one..

The WP7 devices are extremely smooth, though - I'm running a HTC Radar here, and it's just as smooth as iOS on the 4S. Windows Phone 8 is coming this month with much better hardware, though, so buying a WP7 device now would be pretty stupid.

WP8 will have a lot more apps, now that developers can target Windows RT tablets and Windows 8 desktops with the same code base.
Every phone manufacturer has blunders but this iPhone 5 just seems like a fuck up. This is coming from someone who prefers his iPhone over Android phones and generally likes Apple products. [editline]4th October 2012[/editline] And can we stop pretending that iPhones are bounds more expensive than competing smartphones? OK thanks
Well, I'd like an iOS phone than Android one, because iOS for me looks better than Android...but I might be wrong because Android is good too...
