It made it all the way to the other side of the Pacifc Ocean without anyone realizing it's a ghost ship? Surely it showed up on someone's radar and they got suspicious when it didn't respond to hails...
I don't think you understand just how massive the pacific ocean is.
Ghost ships creep the hell out of me http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ghost_ships
I think someone should use this for a SCP file. If someone writes a good enough one, I swear to God I'll find a way to get to that ship and take pictures of the inside.
http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-455 [editline]25th March 2012[/editline] late nevermind.
probably some crazy guy on there :) holy shit, it was 1 yr ago? :O
This is like something off a generic movie or something. -Ship/vessel adrift for several years -People go investigate -Monsters lurking inside the ship -Spreads outside -blabla
That is basically the exact plot of Ghost Ship (Which Raptor posted music to below your post). Salvage crew find cruise ship adrift for 50 years and board it to see if they can bring it back in for scrap, there's ghosts everywhere and they make the ship look like it did in the 50s or something, everybody dies because the ship only looks intact, [sp]the ghost of some armed thieves who massacred the crew and passengers in order to steal a load of gold but died somehow turns out to be trapping them there, they blow him up, ship sinks, one survivor. Gets picked up by a passing cruise ship, as she's loaded into an ambulance on land she sees the same group of thieves loading their box of killy things onto the ship that rescued her!!! Looked it up, apparently they were smuggling stolen gold and that's what was being loaded onto the ship? And the 1960s ship had rescued somebody from a ship before that and... (Yeah, this is the blabla bit) Actually it was a demon getting everybody to turn on each other with the promise of gold. That's pretty fuckin' dumb.[/sp] I watched that film like 10 times :v: Loved it. It's probably terrible in retrospect?

[sp]Guy works for the Devil, it is his job to bring him a quota of souls. He starts off with a cruise ship, and using a cargo of gold he persuades others into doing his bidding. Souls that have committed sins appear to be more manipulable and worth more. He starts off with several attendants poisoning and killing crew and passengers ranging from rat poison, gunning them down into a swimming pool and decapitating/slicing up a bunch on the upper decks with a wire. Two attendants even hang a innocent little girl in a wardrobe. Later he uses another person to kill those members of crew, before the the soul collector kills them. He remains the only one left on the ship. Those that died are trapped on the ship and they are now able to be controlled by the soul collector. The collector then travels from the ship, promising the cargo of gold and the coordinates of it to salvage crews and the like, upon arrival he uses the ghosts/ship to trick the salvage crew(s) into getting killed in various ways. When the ship is destroyed the souls are freed. The collector must start again, so he uses the gold to do so since humans are greedy and manipulated by wealth. It comes down to the "7 deadly sins"[/sp]
What is that SCP site anyway? Is it a conspiracy site like the Flat Earth Society but with aliens or just a place for people to write creepy-pasta about random stuff and act like it's leaked intelligence documents?
What is that SCP site anyway? There's a thread in GD.
That picture looks eerie as shit

Owner's a lucky son of a bitch, the ocean isn't usually this kind to ships left adrift.
yeah what a lucky guy. i wish a portion of my nation could be destroyed by a tsunami.
yeah what a lucky guy. i wish a portion of my nation could be destroyed by a tsunami.
are you being sarcastic? :downs: [editline]a[/editline] it's luckier to actually have the ship found rather than it be completely destroyed, regardless

I remember there was some ghost ship which got swept away and over the course of several decades was seen all over the pacific ocean. Eventually they stopped seeing it so they figured it probably hit some ice up in the arctic.
I remember there was some ghost ship which got swept away and over the course of several decades was seen all over the pacific ocean. Eventually they stopped seeing it so they figured it probably hit some ice up in the arctic.
Why didn't they salvage it?
that was some storm eh?
Too bad there aren't some polar bears or some shit roaming around on the ship, sort of using it as an Arctic party animal cruise ship you might say.
Isn't an entire portion of Japan expected to end up by Hawaii sometime this year?
Isn't an entire portion of Japan expected to end up by Hawaii sometime this year?
Do you mean physically near Hawaii? What?
Do you mean physically near Hawaii? What?
The stuff that washed out, not the country. And yes, physically near.
It's crazy how something that would last 20 to 30 years in good condition goes to shit in such a short amount of time when it's derelict
I hope they tow it in, it must be a great boat to have knowing that it will not sink even if there is an engine failure and all control is lost.
Assuming the owner's still alive, that is.
:ghost: Doubt it.
