I didn't know it was 1991.
None of this is even remotely true, but whatever makes you sleep better at night.
Fine, Russia do have a few "friends" on the international stage.
Belarus, Kazakhstan, North Korea and Armenia for example. All "normal" countries.
Cold War 2.0 is an understatement....
Say hello to more sanctions- Russia will soon be without western imports and investments, and the only thing imported from them will be oil. I expect there to be a big push to ween countries off russian oil though realistically that would take decades.

Substantial economic and political ties with Brazil, loads of newly signed cooperation-treaties with China that include trade, scientific cooperation, loads of joint engineering projects, etc. Strong ties with Cuba, Kazakhstan, India, Turkey and dozens more African countries that rely solely on Russian and Chinese support.
Russian economy isn't solely reliant on natural resources nor is the country submerged in poverty. It has more than enough friends on the international stage to be confident enough to stand up to the West knowing that nobody is crazy enough to dish out anything other than short-term sanctions that don't actually inflict any long-term damage to the Russian economy.

This. They have new economic ties with South America which include some of the fastest growing nations in the world.
But are these nuclear bombs even functional?
They weren't even able to launch satellites onto right orbit :v:

I don't think dropping a bomb off a plane is a hard task

China, India, Brazil, South Africa, Egypt, Hungary, Iran, Serbia...
You can add France to that if Marine Le Pen becomes president. Greece too if SYRIZA win the next election.
-snip late-

The harder part would be to get the plane to it's target without it being shot down.
As if this means anything, no-one would ever use Nukes unless they were used against them. Russia is a power in decline that maintains it's influence solely through aging military might and a grip on volatile natural resources, Russia has no friends on the international stage and a weak economy with colossal poverty.
Russia is friends with China and that is something that is quite concerning, worst possible scenario for the west is that china and russia would agree on stopping exports to the west, but china would probably not agree on such a deal anyway because they are dependant on exports iirc.

China could possibly do it if America pisses them off more, or their economy collapses as some economists predict could happen within the next few years.
I sincerely hope that putin dies, either in an accident or due to disease.
He is a danger to humanity.

If their economy is a bubble...
Right this is fucking retarded, and it is obviously an empty threat, unless he is insane, nobody would ever actually use nukes.
The US should fund a russian coup so this psychopath can loose his power.
But if these nuke threats continue and the US starts waving their nukes around, fuckit I am gonna start prepping again.

Reminds me of the stories of Soviet citizens spending entire days to construct trenches during the 2nd World War.
Really eery seeing everyday people just standing up and saying "No", but in a way that's...fearful, almost.
Supposedly Poland is starting to deliver humanitarian supplies to the Ukrainian Army. Roughly 280 tons worth.
So basically if you have nukes you can do whatever the fuck you want because deterrence?
Czar Putin's been playing too much Civ V.
Boy I really gotta get that game. Everyone says its great.
Ontopic: Putin really is a Bond-style villain at this point. While mostly everyone sits by, happily with the land they got, this guy is still expanding his and threatning people with unreasonable punishments if they get in his way.
The harder part would be to get the plane to it's target without it being shot down.
Which is why nuclear bombers are not used by anyone asfaik.
russia strong arming people to not stand up against them by threatening with nukes? this is going to get really bad really quick.
Putin is nothing but a paper tiger.
Or a pasty looking version of Daniel Craig.

But on to a serious note, FUCK PUTIN. Millions of people could dies from a nuclear war and mankind would be pushed back into the stone age. If I were him, I would not talk so lightly about nuclear weapons.
In another 10/20 years, Daniel Craig is gonna make the perfect actor for a film version of Putin.
Russia is friends with China and that is something that is quite concerning, worst possible scenario for the west is that china and russia would agree on stopping exports to the west, but china would probably not agree on such a deal anyway because they are dependant on exports iirc.
They are dependent on exports, but what most people don't understand is that the Chinese themselves are aware of this fact. They don't just sit around going "welp, were dependent, cant do anything about it". They've began rapid modernization and industrialization ages ago (at the cost of heavy pollution) to distance themselves from reliance on other Western nations to sustain themselves economically. Their current goals align with that of Russia, and both see a great opportunity to cooperate in order to achieve their own goals; as evidenced by the recent massive gas deal struck between the two effectively bypassing the U.S dollar altogether.
At the current rate both are going, China could theoretically even impose sanctions if push comes to shove in the future, as they are holding a lot of cards while the West holds very little in comparison. Military prowess is absolutely irrelevant when we're talking about huge powerhouse nations, and even the combined might of NATO is only really useful to bully or influence small nations. Future 'wars' will be strictly economic and at the absolute worst, proxy wars, which are also very unlikely as they would be bad for business.
And so in doing this, Putin shows weakness. Know what other nation needs to wave the threat of nukes around? North Korea.
In addition to this, he also said Ukraine is led by nazis.

We should have helped the Ukrainians more in the first place. Our perfect window of opportunity was after MH17 was shot down; we had a valid justification then. We should have sent them equipment, advisors, and provided as much aid as we could outside of direct intervention. But we didn't. And it was really stupid of us.
Violence is the only way Russia can be slapped down; economic attacks only go so far. Violence is certainly the only thing that's going to get them out of the Ukraine and end their invasion. And the thing we also need to remember is that this not only applies to the Russian government itself but to the people themselves as well. By in large, they support Putin. They're as much our enemies as he is. The only question is how should we go about conducting such violence? Conventional warfare? Proxy warfare? Espionage and terrorism?
Being cowardly and doing nothing in this very serious affair which has very serious consequences is the worst possible thing we could do though. It tells them we're pushovers who aren't willing or seemingly able to do anything, and that they can continue behaving this way and do whatever they want without repercussions. Now that's dangerous.

Considering the threat of nukes, we'd need a very good missile defence system to catch a full-on Alpha Strike. Don't we have anti-missile missiles in the American arsenal?
And let's not forget the Boeing YAL-1, a jet airliner with a massive laser in the nose-cone, designed to shoot down missiles in the booster phase. We're still working on an improved version of this kind of laser plane, but just in case it probably wouldn't hurt to try and bring the old girl out of the Boneyard, fix her up and have her ready to shoot down whatever missiles Putin thinks he can lob out before he makes a mad dash for the Kremlin panic room.
So if we can build up more laser planes and anti-missile missiles, hopefully even an Alpha Strike would barely singe our eyebrows, leaving Russia looking like a wally as everyone turns on them.

Putin dropping a nuke on ukraine or anywhere that is not a testing ground (And no, Ukraine does not classify as a russian nuke testing ground) is just not gonna happen, since nuking a country, especially one that has no nuclear warheads itself (Correct me if I'm wrong), is one of the worlds biggest crimes to commit, and would probably put him up there with the likes of hitler in the history books.
Not saying that it will start WW3, but the result of such an action will not be pleasant for anyone on the world.

War with Russia means the end of the world, is Ukraine worth that?

You're entirely right; Ukraine had nukes after the fall of the Soviet Union, but returned them to Russia in a treaty that in return promised Ukraine safety from Russian invas-
Oh... Right.
