Have they said which game is going to come out first?
Witcher 3 will come out first.
[editline]4th February 2013[/editline]
then cyberpunk sometime in 2015.
Yeah, they said Witcher 3 was already far along in its development when the first started talking about a secondary project, though it wasn't explicitly named then.
Just in time to make Dragon Age 3 look laughable, poor Bioware

It's interesting to see how CDProjekt used to work for Bioware before, they used to do translations and such, it seems that student surpasses the master.
I only played the first witcher and gave up because of the bad gameplay, was it improved in the witcher 2? If so I might give the second and this one a try since I've heard amazing things about everything else in the games.
I've only played Witcher 2 and it felt so unoptimized. I've been able to play any new games I've tried, but I was lagging really hard even on low in W2.

What are your specs? Witcher 2 is known for being optimized fairly well. It's likely that whatever issue you were having (assuming you don't have an ancient PC) was fixable.
Oh shit, this is just too good to be true. Can't wait!
Maybe it's time to try to get into Witcher 2 again.
Finished reading the last book a few weeks ago and it was amazing. I hope they use a bit more of that "fuck you we'll explain NOTHING go read the BOOKS you find everywhere" attitude of the first a bit more.
Open world and on consoles, colour me worried.
Apparently, built for PC and downgraded for consoles, sounding a bit better then.

Combat, specifically, is completely overhauled in TW2 and turned into something very hectic, exciting and very challenging.
I'm a bit worried by the open world approach. Not that I don't want to ride around as the White Wolf across a gritty germanic fantasy-themed countryside solving mysteries and shit, but I hope that the open-world approach won't give TW3's plot the Skyrim-issue of feeling incoherent and impersonal.
I hope I won't have to upgrade. I can run W2 no problem and it would suck if I couldn't play sequel to what I consider the best RPG I've played.
Geralt looks awesome with the beard, I wonder who is the rider behind him, looks like he/she has white hair and carries silver sword.

They also used one of Biowares engines for The Witcher 1 (Aurora Engine)
I couldn't play the first one. I just became angry every time a character said something for some reason.
I've got the second and I hear it's better.
This gon' be good.
Hopefully they add modding capabilities.

yeah its a completely different game.

they probably will.
I think they just recently released a modkit for tw2?
Granted it was more than a year after release, but it exists.
e: its apparently still in private beta

I'm so fucking excited,
The wild-hunt, [sp] The Nilfgardian invasion, and the massive witch hunt[/sp] all acumlating into one amazing cluster fuck. I just got done my 3rd playthrough on the hardest dificulty and I'm not sure which timeline I'd rather see carried over to the Witcher 3. I'm thinking roche's simply because [sp] The Northern Kingdoms stand more of a chance[/sp]
I'll have to play the whole series sometime.
If the Witcher series showed me one thing is that if the game defines the character you play, it has a LOT more depth in storytelling and character development compared to RPGs where you start as a blank slate make-your-own-hero kind of thing. Downside is that you'll have to tolerate / be able to relate to the kind of character that Geralt is, or you might not enjoy the game as much.
My friend after reading about this: "ohmygodohmygoddidyouhearaboutwitcher3?!?!?"

That would be Triss. It's also probably Geralt's sword (seeing as he isn't wearing a silver one), just on the other Horse.
It could apparently be Ciri too.

It could be Ciri. She's Geralt's apprentice in the books.

Thank God, I love the games and all, but nothing ruins the feel of being a hardened badass worse than "Let me pander out my precious time to slay some things or some shit" to Insignificant Character #3.
It could be Ciri. She's Geralt's apprentice in the books.
While it's possible she'll finally have a part in the games since Geralt's memory is back, I think it's more likely that particular person is Triss. I have a feeling that many of Geralt's friends will be available to travel with, or you have to pick one just one or two to come with you to [sp]Nilfgaard[/sp].
If anyone's interested, there's fan translations of all 5 The Witcher books right here. Easily downloaded as pdf from google docs.
Adds a ton of background information and lore to the series. Besides that they're also great fantasy books.

Everything from solving MYSTERIES to slaying monsters
.
What
For all I know from the books, being a witcher is about killing monsters for money
So the game should be called like "guy who used to be a witcher but now he got a cool beard and changed his name to Gabe Newell to open a video game company"
I would like see how it would fit in cover
I've never played any of the Witcher games. Are they that good?

Cool, I'm gonna check these out.
I've been waiting like 3 years since Blood of Elves was translated to English for the next dang book to come out.

That person has blonde/white hair. Triss has red hair.
