HELLO DESMUME
THREAD MUSIC HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE VANILLA POKEMON CONTESTS SECRET BASES PROPER SPECIAL ATTACK/ATTACK MECHANICS ALL THAT SURFING HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG
You just reminded me of the last town in the game, that wasn't even an island, near Sky Pilar. That was so much dope.
it's easy as fuck compared to the rest
The Exp Share was the worst of it all. It did not divide the experience, everyone got the same amount even if they never took part in the battle, making levelling extremely easy. The champion was easier than most of the E4, the one female character was annoying as fuck (Kinniekins), the fat one was obnoxious, the nerdy one was alright (even if stereotyped as the withdrawn nerd), and the main female rival was not enough of a challenge.
Man this shit is going to fucking awesome. I also hope they bring back secret bases, i loved messing with these things.
Best one was the one with the 2 rooms with cracks blocking passage to them. [editline]7th May 2014[/editline]
Everybody loves Rayquaza.
What's not to love? A huge ass green w/ yellow mystiquy marks serpent dragon that flies over the ozone I literally went "WTF IS THIS ARGH CATCH IT" when I saw it for the very first time. Had no idea something like that existed at all.
HELLO DESMUME
3ds can't be emulated yet
nintendo certainly isnt the king of rehashes anymore, its game freak
Yeah... no. While you have 1 rehash of both the first and second gen in pokemon, you have a metric tonne of rehashes for almost every single mario title out there, including spinoffs aswell maybe. You could even count the 3rd releases of each gen (yellow, crystal, emerald, platinum) as rehashes if you'd like, and you STILL wouldn't have enough for a single mario title. [editline]7th May 2014[/editline]
it's a joke about everybody loves raymond
Oh. Then who does everyone hate in the pokemon world? Bibarel?
The Exp Share was the worst of it all. It did not divide the experience, everyone got the same amount even if they never took part in the battle, making levelling extremely easy.
No? They got 50% if they did not battle. Also they didn't force you to use it.

Everyone else in that unusually large group of companions represented a way that players could focus on playing the game. One of them wanted to fight and become a champion, one of them wanted to fill out the pokedex, one of them wanted to experience the story/world/adventure... and then this kid wanted to watch pokemon dance. He didn't really want to use dance themed pokemon or moves personally, he just wanted to see them. There used to be pokemon dance competitions, but not in the game that this guy's in and no one brings up their existence. And there aren't even any real interesting animations to watch when pokemon actually use those moves. He's at best a reference to something that the rest of the series seems to want to bury and forget, and at worst a big fat plot thread left dancing in the wind.
No? They got 50% if they did not battle. Also they didn't force you to use it.
the game was still stupidly easy even without the exp share because every trainer had such small teams of 2 or 3, combined with their dumbass AI for fuck's sake, every elite 4 trainer only had FOUR pokemon, and there aren't even any improvements to their teams if you go for a rematch
yessss I fucking loved Sapphire. Can't wait to cruise around with my bro Sceptile again.
RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL RYDEL Can't wait, gen 3 was what got me into pokemon, even though I played Silver and Red
i guess this is how they are gonna make money to makeup for the wiiu since this should sell
Awesome. Between sootopolis, pacifilog, fortree, and a few others RSE had the best towns and some of the best routes.
Imo Ruby and Sapphire were my least favorite Pokemon games. I still liked them but I prefer Crystal by a large margin.
I'm probably curious how they'll try to fit in Mega Evolution into the game if only 1 starter has a Mega, otherwise strategy is going to become over-centralized to the extent that everyone is probably going to use Blaziken and Gardevoir. and the sporadic fairy types might result in people possibly using Mawile or possibly Marill. (latter disturbs Mudkip's place. even Shroomish devalues Treeko a little) I could see Steven Stone having some actual importance with his fascination with stones, but a mild retcon isn't going to make him as likable as Cynthia who seemed mysterious and something of a cultured archaeologist. As far as Pokedex entries goes, more fire types is an obvious one due to the glaringly low amount of pokemon families....Numel, Slugma, Torchic...Vulpix, im also open to the idea of Secret Bases actually being useful as a Spotpass feature, it would be much more valued than XY's Pokemiles that only earns 1 per person... I just hope they don't kill off trainer customization, Gamefreak seems to have a tendency to have upgrades...then pulling them away. from things like HGSS having a much easier Item Finder and togglable Run Button to earlier games having a multiple pokemon pickup button, but mysteriously omitted in BW. some people just wants to be May.
My favorite Elite Four, my favorite starters, my favorite legendaries, my favorite gyms, my favorite protagonists, my favorite champion, my favorite world experience. This is the only game that I was actually able to enjoy the non-endgame content. I am holding so much hype, I cannot express it.

Use shitty Pokemon, or only one, or monotype or something. X and Y had a lot of flaws, but complaining that they're easy is pretty silly. They're for kids, so of course Game Freak will give the option to make the game childishly easy, and it's your fault if you didn't enjoy your gameplay experience for that reason.

Remakes tend to stay true to their origins, but add on the new content after the game is finished, generally after beating the Elite Four.
Sapphire was my favorite Pokemon game. I really liked Kyogre as well. [editline]7th May 2014[/editline] I really wished they would bring back that thing that let your pokemon follow you around. I really liked that.

After White and Black, and especially the Version 2s where the various battles actually got more difficult than normal for the series, they stepped back for X and Y and severely toned it down to being, arguably, easier than even Red and Blue/Green besides optional battle content in certain locations. Granted, X/Y was basically a celebration of everything Pokemon, especially due to all the nostalgia and reused events from older games, but still.
they've proven that they can create AI that are downright merciless with the Battle Maison it doesn't matter if you use strong or weak pokemon because the AI everywhere else in the game are about as smart as monkeys mashing buttons to select moves
I think they've actually purposefully coded the singleplayer AI to make poor decisions. Gym leaders usually play intelligently to a degree, random encounters choose moves entirely randomly AFAIK, but trainers. Fucking trainers. The shit I've seen them do boggles my mind. I've seen a trainer try and use thunderbolt 5 times in a row on my ground type, then I switched into a normal type, so he prompty switched to shadow ball it's like they fucking want to die
I guess it's the difference between something being hard and being challenging, the latter being far more compelling. I'll admit I didn't really notice the bad AI but I'll assume you're the authority on that...
wasn't the biggest fan of X and Y, but sapphire was my all time favorite Pokemon game so I will probably pick this up. It's cool that it is coming out this year, totally unexpected!
I'm probably curious how they'll try to fit in Mega Evolution into the game if only 1 starter has a Mega
The box art suggests that Groudon and Kyogre are going to have Mega evolutions. They're probably adding tons of other new ones to the games. I just hope this means X and Y will receive some kind of update that adds the new Mega forms. Previous Pokemon generations were restricted in this sense, that the older games couldn't make use of content from newer ones within a generation. For example, if you're playing Platinum version and you're in a battle with your friend who's playing Diamond. Platinum introduced Giratina's Origin form, and you can obviously see it in action on Platinum. But your friend playing Diamond version, which was released before Platinum, only sees Giratina's Altered form that mysteriously has the Levitate ability instead of Pressure. Plus it's probably wicked easy to update 3DS games compared to DS games.
If they use the 3D assets from XY, I don't see how this constitutes anything more than a rehash of XY. Emerald / Ruby / Sapphire were improvements over 2nd gen mostly in terms of Gameplay and Graphics in the same way that XY was an improvement over BW/BW2 in the same ways, so it's likely just going to feel like a XY map pack considering how far they refused to deviate from the original games in their last remakes. Black and White / 2 were really the last Pokemon games to bring something new to the series that wasn't incremental gameplay and graphics updates, considering how half-assed X and Y's story was. The amount of hugboxing over what's going to not be a very phenomenal game is staggering.
i still think dunsparce should have an evo or a mega evolution that turns it into some total badass mon
Damn, I was about to sell my 3DS. Guess it's time to hold onto this fella for a little longer.. Holy shit though, this is like a distant dream I thought would never be answered. I loved R/S to death. My first Pokemon handheld game.
Hopefully when this comes out I can buy it in a bundle.
