Hoenn Confirmed: Pokemon Alpha Ruby and Omega Sapphire coming later this year

The pokemon remakes remind me of the bible quote from Fallout3 'I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.'

What I absolutely loved about Ruby was that you spent the latter half of the game going around with Stephen Stone fucking over Team Aqua/Magma's plans, and then when you fight him as the champion it feels more like a battle between friends.

Then Emerald came out and ruined it by having Wallace be the champion. Fucking Wallace, could barely catch a Raltz even after I showed him how to do it.

Also secret bases were the best, I remember I found one secret base that had an awesome giant room, but there was a hole in the floor at the entrance so you couldn't go inside the main room.

Mixing records with a friend in R/S/E adds your friend's secret base to your game and yours to theirs. It even puts a copy of you and the team you had in your party at the time of the mix into the base, and their character and team into your game, so you can battle your friend's AI-controlled team.

Imagine if they introduced Fusion Pokemon.

Like you can breed any two together, and get hybrids. Then breed those together and get hybrids-of-hybrids.

And their graphics are all perfect, and the hybrid is different amounts of the parent Pokemon.

So you might mix a Beedrill and Ryhorn, and get a dominant Ryhorn that's gold and black stripes, and has a more drilly horn.

Or you might get a Flying, dominant Beedrill, but it's grey and has rock armour like the Ryhorn.

And new attacks are procedurally generated, based on the mixtures you make.

So, your flying Ryhorn might have an attack called 'DiveQuake' where it flies up high, and slams under the ground. Similar to Dig/Fly/Earthquake but with a cooler animation.

that might be interesting in a game that isn't pokemon. breeding pokemon is like 70% of the competitive pokemon scene, and replacing it with some dumb fusion mechanic would be a silly move. it wouldn't even feel like pokemon anymore, really
