Trumps head of energy is a climate change denialist

Well it looks like it's time for mass protest.
I... I don't want to do this but, RIPBILLYMAYS, do you think there's a chance at all now that Trump will support nuclear energy, considering this result?
Off to a good start.
I'm sure the supporters will say that this is a minor sacrifice in the name of all the good that can come from Trump's presidency for the working class.
If somebody says this I have a few words for them, none very nice or very appreciative
It's okay guys, he won't be that bad. Just wait and see, everything will work out fine. Being furious about his election is an overreaction.:downs:
I've always felt that climate change was the only trump-card (no pun intended) to play in the game of false equivalency between Clinton and Trump. And not coincidentally, the candidates' environmental policies have gone severely underreported throughout this election cycle. Because what's most important, apparently, is that we stay up to date 24/7 on Trump's tweetstorms.
fuuck these wu tang songs better be worth it
fuuck these wu tang songs better be worth it
I don't think people will actually care. People didn't care about their last album either
wu tang is one of those music artists people seem to say they like because other people say they like them
What? No Trump supporters? Again?
I guess this is going to be a trend.
Vote the man in, say he'll make america great again
sit in stunned, and shocked silence as he sells your nation out from under you for each and every lie you bought.
His opinion on nuclear energy can be summed up as he "prefers energy sources compete in a free market setting with no help from federal, state, and local governments"
Outlook not so good as far as building new reactors go methinks.

But I thought SH would be dominated by them with all the lib cucks being banned
We still have Elon Musk with Tesla and Solar City to guide us to the light
How ironic it will be the private interests trying to save us now.
Luckily Musk has positioned Tesla so that if all the federal incentives are stripped it doesn't fuck them over. Even if solar loses net metering everywhere it should still be viable with Tesla's Powerwall.
Save us from these clowns Elon.

I do believe a certain user is going to very heavily regret their choices in the years to come...
Gen IV reactors plz.

They are in this for self-interest over petty internet vendettas, they don't care what happens, they just care about making you mad, they're that pathetic.
Not just Trump supporters, lots of people online are this way and it's stupid.

No private companies will invest in nuclear without subsidies because it's prohibitively expensive. Even for older reactor designs that should be cheaper now.
So nuclear is something he literally never cared about. But good luck getting that into a certain Trump voters thick skull.
clean coal
I'm not even actually worried about what we're doing, but the affect it'll have on other countries too. One justification often used to defend China being unclean quite often was that the US and EU are no different. If we actively regress, we pretty much lose that moral ground to encourage China, who by the way have been making some great progress, and later India as well as they become like China. So in that case it actually compounds and hurt the world much more

It's hard to pin down where Ebell stands on nuclear power, which really says enough and I could just stop there and the point would be made abundantly clear, but I did find this
"There are a couple of nuclear reactors being built in this country right now," he tells OneNewsNow. "They are being built with federal payments and federal loan guarantees."
CEI prefers energy sources compete in a free market setting with no help from federal, state, and local governments.
Still, a nuclear reaction produces no carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases – a fact that has led some people to tell OneNewsNow that if people are really concerned about man-made climate change, then they should get behind nuclear. The need for a solid energy source to aid a growing economy and population has also been mentioned.
"Some environmentalists say, 'Yes, we're going to have to have nuclear power,' but others, they have a built-in opposition to nuclear going back to the Cold War days and the anti-nuclear movement, the anti-nuclear weapons movement," Ebell reports. "They're not going to change, so I don't know how that's going to play out," he concludes.
More or less the Republican platforms passive denial of support for nuclear power. He says it's a good idea, but should be energy should be competitive in the free market, which nuclear power simply isn't at this point. At best he is ambivalent.

Apparently the let down and heart break starts on day 1
we don't even have to wait for the man to be elected for his presidency to be turning the nation into a shambles

I'm not let down, I'm laughing my ass off at this and his other cabinet possibilities. Trump supporters got played like a fucking fiddle.

I wish RIPBILLYMAYS was here for this lol.
They're welcoming it. They're staying silent because they "know" they're right. They're looking at this and saying this is the best course for this nation and this world. Every decision he makes, it's that. Nothing can come between them and Donald Trump.
They will find a way to screw them over as well.
I wish RIPBILLYMAYS was here for this lol.
He'd still support Trump. There's nothing that Trump could do to sway him.

I wish I could laugh, but I'm too horrified to laugh at the thought of what might happen
I wish RIPBILLYMAYS was here for this lol.
We told him this when he first started claiming nuclear power as one of the reasons he supported Trump. That he has never really put his foot down on the issue and that the Republican platform more or less disavows it. He just ignored us.
To be fair a lot of them like tudd got banned for getting a little ~~raucous~~ with their celebratory posts so maybe they'll be back

Clean coal is a meme. Coal is a dead energy source. Natural gas is cheaper and more plentiful. The coal regions are fucked.

As always, people don't understand that everything that comes out of a politicians mouth is lip service. They do not care about you in an election year. Period.

The less of them remain here to cause trouble the better pleased I'll be tbh, the behavior they've displayed has ranged from the disgusting to the outright sociopathic.

My only regret is that we'll not have smurfy around to capitalize on all of the grade-A material we're sure to have.
