Tattoos and piercings: How young is too young? Psychologists say kids younger than 18 are often not
in my most humble opinion, people who get piercings on anything other than their nose or ears are stupid. sure it's their own body and they can do whatever they want with it, but they're just stupid. the fuck is the point of getting your tongue or anywhere else pierced? oh and bellybuttons are okay too, i suppose.
now tattoos are a different story.
again, it's their own body and they can do whatever they want with their body, but the VAST majority of people who get tattoos are utter retards. do they do it to be cool? do they do it to be hip? or, god forbid, they do it because they want to actually permanently put some stupid phrase or image on their bodies? god knows.
if you're gonna get a tattoo, put it somewhere where people aren't going to notice it. hell, don't get one at all, don't defile your body.
and getting back on topic: anyone under 18 with a tattoo should be shot, and their parents should also be shot. not quite the same with piercings, but heavy shames and judgemental looks should be had at the parents who let their kids get unusual piercings (not ears)
Are you a Jahovah's witness or something?
There are freshmen at my school with tattoos.
Then again, most of them have kids, so it's not entirely shocking.
I was mature enough to decide I never wanted one as a teenager.
why am I dumb for not wanting tattoos? Never said it was dumb to want them.
How do you feel about gauges then?
My girlfriend is about to enroll in a tattoo school, and I am fully supportive of it, but back in high school I saw so many stupid tattoos, I kinda agree with the article. One guy apparently went to the tattoo parlor with $20 and got whatever $20 could buy. Walked out with the ugliest grim reaper ive ever seen. Another guy has both a big wooden cross and goku on his arms.
I have a friend who has Spiderman on his left calf, a werewolf on his right, pawprints up his back, werewolf claws tearing out of his chest, Superman logo on his shoulder, a werewolf howling at the moon on his other shoulder, werewolf claw marks on his back, and more I honestly don't care to remember.
His body looks like a website in 1998 IMO.

Looks like an awesome blow job.
I'm 20 and have 2 piercings in my ear that I did myself a year ago. When I get the money I'm getting a tattoo. I have parents who say "Piercings are fine as long as they're your ears. No tattoos til you move out." So I respect that.
I think tattoos are cool as long as they actually mean something to you. I mean, no one should want a tattoo, per say. More want the reminder of what it symbolizes, or the expression it shows, or to commemorate something you know? I just can't stand when people get like a RHCP tattoo "because it looked cool." If RHCP got you through a really tough time in life and you think its important enough to put on your body forever then sure, that's a good reason.
Also I hate when people say you'll regret it when you're older for ANYTHING. I just know personally I want to live my life now and accomplish things now and work for goals now. That is more important to me than not doing anything because I MAY not like it later.
I'd be childish, get the HL logo tattoo'd to my right palm and then find it funny as the tattoo slowly degrades.
Get it? EH EH? :v:
The lambda is the symbol used for decay, and the tattoo is decaying off my haaaaand.
Most piercings aren't that big of a deal because they generally can heal over pretty quickly if you don't like them.

i have seen some "hardcore" kids in my old high school that had gauges that were the size of Gatorade caps.

Something this fucking big in your ear, that has to be permanent damage.

There's normal piercings and retarded piercings.
I think you can figure out where piercings that big belong.
I've never found it attractive. If it's small and out of the way, like an ankle tattoo, then I'm cool with that. But shit all over your arms/legs/body, etc? No thanks.
I see alot of people who are 15/16 and have stupid tattoos of song lyrics/their girlfriends name. They often regret these later, but it's their choice and doing stupid shit is what makes you you.
I got my lip pierced when I turned 18, which I think is the right age to get it. I waited a few years wanting to get it done, but was holding off until I was 18. Getting piercings at age 11 is a bit silly imo.
Anyway, to each their own, its what each person finds aesthetically pleasing, and I find piercings and tattoos very attractive and appealing
Piercings I don't give two shits about, you can heal from those.
Tattoos, well you better be prepared to permanently have whatever it is on your body if you want one.
Personally I'd only get a tattoo if it was a memorial to someone really close to me.
I'd only get a tattoo if I was going to be a wrestler for the WWE or something
I'm keen on the idea of a small tattoo and a small piercing, but since the things I think look 'cool' actually look dumbfuck retarded, I'll protect myself from both the tattoos and the humiliation.

fucking ninjas.
I think parents should be allowed to do parenting whether that means body modification is considered normal in their family or not, implementing authoritarian measures regarding this type of thing is a bad idea because it implies that the state has the right to tell you what you can or cannot do to your own body which is your property.
I think a lot of people in this thread are taking things too seriously. I have two friends with "Haters make me Famous" Tattooed on their butt cheeks, and I dont see a problem with it. They were fully aware of what a tattoo is, so who cares? My dad and all his friends just got the same tattoo in honor of one of their friends that passed away. I've met older dudes with full sleeves that dont regret it one bit. Just because you dont get the point of tattoos, doesn't mean it isnt significant for someone else.
OnLy GaWd KaN jUdGe mE on my forehead!!

Then they're the smart ones, and they're the ones I have no problem with.
