Dota 2 will move over to Source 2 in the coming weeks

i would kill for a new DoD its fun, but really dead at the moment
Tf2 concurrent player base isn't nearly as massive as dota though. Improve where the dosh flows in, y'know?
Cash doesn't flow as well if the pipe is rusty. I think they should just build TF3 instead.
I don't think we'll be getting a TF3 anytime soon, TF2's got sooo many ongoing beta projects going on at the moment and who knows when those will ever get finished. I'd also imagine it would be a really difficult transition for anyone that's racked up an inventory they're proud of, and would make people think twice before investing in TF3, no matter how long TF2's survived already.
CS:GO pleasee
out of all games csgo would need this the least

It would be good to improve performance and maybe some backend/network stuff.
Lets be honest here, <insert biased favorite game here> would need the update the most.
quake 1: source 2 edition
I'm really just excited for a Source 2 Hammer editor that is hopefully open source and supports linux

Like I said in an earlier thread, why not a Half-Life 2: Source 2?

There's more money in competitive gaming, micro transactions, and the culture of the weird dudes at your college who play Dota 2 and SSB in the student commons instead of going to class.
Valve isn't interested in creativity, they're interested in building a cryptocurrency out of TF2 items

I don't really think valve needs to build a TF3 until TF2 is really in the shitter.
I rather they rebuild the code from the ground up, improve graphics and lighting, and ship it as a massive update.
deathmatch classic please

actually no, csgo needs it the most, because of the new hitbox system in source 2.

Is that why I can't click on things in Dota reborn? I thought I was just too autistic or something

it might just be because reborn is glitchy as fuck, I dont know haven't played it much myself. all I know is that when that image leaked a long time ago, so did stuff about a source 2 hitbox system that would hopefully fix all the issues with the current one.

As a FPS mapper, I wish we could get some source 2 love.
I couldn't give a shit less about DOTA 2. No offense to those who enjoy it.

Can we literally shut up with Valve going all microtransactions?
THEY JUST FUCKING MADE A NEW ENGINE. They are literally not going to say "We are never going to make a game anymore".

They'll make games, but I think they're gonna spend more time/effort on steam and their multiplayer platforms than on their single player IPs. I think Valve is more of an online platform company than a videogame developer now.

They're turning into more of a Publisher if anything.

Sure they are. In the next decade or so.
Like I said in an earlier thread, why not a Half-Life 2: Source 2?
That would just piss fans off. They want a new game and not a remake of a 10+ year old game.
Day of Defeat please. Imagine how well a WWII multiplayer FPS would do in today's climate.

Eh, it is likely, valve like to update hl2 with new versions of source
Hell, port Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to Source 2 and open up modding on it in more than just maps and skins with external stuff as per usual. You'd probably see people go batshit with that stuff in a matter of weeks or months.
This is a must. Hopefully it fixes the hit registration bugs.
pit lord pls
It was confirmed that they weren't going to add pit lord until after Source 2 is finished. Maybe they'll release him with Source 2.

I'm totally cool with that. Solving Reborn problems and stabilize the engine for dota is, without doubt, top priority.
Will happen in the "next day or two"
Today we are rolling out a preload of the Reborn Update to all players that have not previously downloaded it. The Reborn Update will be coming to the main client for all Dota 2 players in the next day or two.
I'm most excited for Gmod 2
We are rolling out the Reborn update over the next couple of hours. Matchmaking is now only available in Reborn.
