what objections do you have about the video? how does it look faked to you?
I'm not outright saying it's fake, but I'm not going to come out and say it's legit. I want actual proof, beyond the video itself, that it's real. Is just a little bit more evidence that much to ask?
debunking that hypothesis requires no strenuous examination because it is a ridiculous claim that does not have a ridiculous amount of evidence to back it up. the amount of evidence needed to assume something as true is directly correlated with how outrageous the claim is. "great claims require great evidence". i wouldn't call cnn faking news to be a "great claim" due to how easy it would be to do, and how they might have had motivation as well.
I think the aliens had a lot of motivation for hitting the twin towers It's all about perspective. Now given that you are amongst the usual rah-rah anti-government posters-at-every-opportunity I don't expect you to see it like a normal person and realize that this is foolish. I'm just telling you that everyone else thinks differently.
Again, I'm not accusing CNN of being 100% fake, but the video speaks for itself.
And I never said that man, chill. RIP Automerge.
Why exactly are we meant to care about this
gee maybe because one of the top mainstream news sources was caught faking footage of a war seems like sort of a big deal [editline]9th February 2013[/editline]
And I never said that man, chill. RIP Automerge.
I'm not accusing you of saying that, I'm just covering my own ass. :P
"I need to strenuously examine the WHY of how 9/11 couldn't have been perpetrated by an alien hologram missile"
I don't understand. I was clearly saying it's foolish to immedietly assume something isn't true only because it's a "conspiracy theory". You don't have to be amongst the "rah-rah anti-government posters-at-every-opportunity" to realise that's just shitty logic.

[editline]9th February 2013[/editline]
Why exactly are we meant to care about this
because it helps to expose cnn as a shoddy source of news.

[editline]9th February 2013[/editline] because it helps to expose cnn as a shoddy source of news.
Because I'll admit I have a bias and take stuff like this with a truckload of salt. It would be hard to fake, but as I said, I just want a little bit more evidence. I know, I know.
Because I'll admit I have a bias and take stuff like this with a truckload of salt. It would be hard to fake, but as I said, I just want a little bit more evidence. I know, I know.
so you have admitted that the video would be hard to fake, that means you should show some evidence showing that it actually was faked. if it's easier to assume the video is real, then it's logically sound to assume that the story is real as well, regardless of the source.
I'm not outright saying it's fake, but I'm not going to come out and say it's legit. I want actual proof, beyond the video itself, that it's real. Is just a little bit more evidence that much to ask?
You're not really answering the question. Why do you think that this particular video is not evidence enough? You were denouncing the video so strongly before it just seems that you're back-peddling a little bit by saying you need further proof.
You're not really answering the question. Why do you think that this particular video is not evidence enough? You were denouncing the video so strongly before it just seems that you're back-peddling a little bit by saying you need further proof.
Because I'll concede that I was simply arguing on behalf of the source. As for the logical argument, I simply want to just have a bit more. While it is could be more logical to assume it, I just want it to overcome my personal bias. Therefore, to be honest, there is no argument I can make that is not opinionated.
you realize how fallacious this is right? how is the video fake, why shouldn't we assume it to be real? trying to discredit the source doesn't discredit the video.
Gotta disagree here, these videos are only as reliable as their source, if the source is proven bullshit then it's safe to assume the video is as well.
Gotta disagree here, these videos are only as reliable as their source, if the source is proven bullshit then it's safe to assume the video is as well.
It's not wise to assume things. The source definitely is crap but it has some nice video evidence to back this particular story up in my opinion.
Gotta disagree here, these videos are only as reliable as their source, if the source is proven bullshit then it's safe to assume the video is as well.
not if it would be unfeasible or unlikely to fake the video.
Gotta disagree here, these videos are only as reliable as their source, if the source is proven bullshit then it's safe to assume the video is as well.
In most cases yes, but because the video isn't fake, at least in my opinion, the source doesn't matter.
Doesn't really matter all things considered, because not only is the source not reputable, but the video was uploaded nearly 4 years ago.
