David Cameron: Forcing disabled people out of their homes because of the bedroom tax makes no sense
Its never going to happen.
UKIP is just going to fracture the right and that'll be the end of both UKIP and the Tories.
Fine by me.
UKIP voters will drift back by 2015. Also consider that Labour's lead is much smaller than it should be for such an abysmal government, I wouldn't rule out the Conservatives winning in 2015..

id rather all parties be dismantled and begin again from scratch tbh

Yeah maybe saying that the tories would flat out not win wasn't right.
But they do have a problem ahead of them trying to vie for right wing voters.
Bedroom tax? Do you guys have bedroom detector vans too?
what the fuck is a bedroom tax

having a house with ~more rooms than you should afford~

If Labour keeps this terrible poll lead going we'll have yet another hung parliament, I wonder if we'll have a 3-party coalition...

Neither Clegg, Miliband or Cameron are even remotely inspiring as leaders, it'll be interesting to see if there are any leadership challenges before 2015
No, but it does change peoples circumstances beyond their control in exchange for money. Like a tax. How can thousands of people move into more appropriate housing if there isn't any?
Agreed, just making sure that point is understood as just am opposition piece of BS. And this has only come around because people have been abusing the system for years with regards to credits and increased payments.
It isn't fair at all, and I still don't believe it's worth raising the money as there's no way that much money has been fiddled.
So. UKIP.
What's the big deal? Seems kinda alright from a brief look over the manifesto, but everyone seems to be going bat-shit about it being a terrible idea.

AKA nearly as laughable as the BNP one about burying all powercables and making firearm ownership mandatory.
Lower tax and more spending for all. Not bad, eh? There's really only three options here: Ukip may have discovered the philosopher's stone and is generously planning to devote its proceeds to the public coffers.
Alternatively, and arguably less plausibly, it feels the £53m a day (or £19m a day by the Guardian's reckoning), aided by cuts to council allowances and the inevitable "efficiency savings", will be enough to fund tax cuts and large spending hikes.
Finally, it may just be enjoying the privilege of minor parties in the UK: to making promises which are easy to like and impossible to keep – in the sure and certain knowledge you won't be in power to keep them.
Nice work if you can get it.
There's no point pretending humans are 'united' or anywhere near 'united' as a culture or as a species.
Until such time as people wake up to the facts that our entire lives are dominated by beliefs, and most beliefs are fucking stupid and need to go - we remain divided.
Whilst divided, it's probably a better idea for countries to start getting their own shit in order for a start - introducing more cultural variables and radically opposing beliefs into the mix isn't helpful for anyone.

Democracy! Freedom of thought!
A choice between 'option you got fed #1' and 'option you got fed #2'!

its a fairly large step above 'deport people who you disagree with and prevent anyone from coming in who disagrees'

Until it's addressed locally to some degree, there's simply no use in piling more crappy beliefs about things into the works.
Say some physicists posed a physics problem - and as they're still figuring it out, in runs a geneticist, a lawyer, a biologist, a pharmaceutical salesman, a priest and a car mechanic to tell them how it should be done, each arguing their own snippets of 'truth'.
It'd do nothing but exacerbate the already-complex issue.
You make drug abuse look bad SCopE5000

Except I feel fairly certain that a whole society is far less focused and directed towards one thing than a physicist working on a physics problem.

you're looking way too deep into this to be practical. simple terms, they don't believe in global warming, want to boost government spending, and will tax the poor significantly more than the rich. now, you can preach as much as you want about how differing opinions and cultures are scary, but that won't change the fact that this plan right here is really fucking dumb - objectively so. your ramblings are irrelevant.

Whilst I don't agree with any political parties promoting blatantly unworkable policies, I find it ridiculous the stick UKIP has received when Labour doesn't actually have any solid policies, and the ones they have suggested involve large tax rises and even larger spending rises - often with increases in wages and guaranteed jobs
That's why they came second with 24% in South Shields?
I live in South Shields. It shames me to live in a massive place of racist, antisemitic people with more more chavs then your average London shopping center.
One of the thing that pisses me off most about UKIP is that they support nuclear power on one hand, but also coal, and they want to get rid of wind turbines. Just adds to the 'nuclear power is bad with a capital C' image.
[editline]12th May 2013[/editline]
And they apparently want to cut Jobseeker's Allowance. I know people that would be dead if it wasn't for that.

Thanks for actually contributing reasonable points.

The problem with UKIP is not that they want to leave the EU, it's that leaving the EU is the only policy that they had until very recently, and the rest of the policies are downright retarded
