• California spends $21.8 billion on welfare for illegals annually

Walls aren't the answer. If they were then EVERY country in the world would have them and no one would ever be able to invade anyone else. Humans are resourceful, if they want to get from point A to point B they will, no matter how many walls or machine gun nests you put up. The answer is to improve point A so they'll want to stay there, and then people won't even want to come to this country.
It will work fairly well for a fair amount of time, but it doesn't fix the underlying problem. The Mexican economy, social issues, and government corruption provide for the driving force of many illegals, and for incentive and business for the cartels. Border security will not fix the problem, it will only lessen it to a short extent for a time. It's placing duct tapeon a dam that needs to be partially rebuilt and should have been long ago. It doesn't matter how much tape we put on though, it's still going to continue leaking until w fix the dam.
But it would be racist for America to annex Mexico, so what's the point of trying to fix their shitty economy, when America's Economy is in the shitter and they have nothing to gain from it?
"Illegals" is not a word, and you sound extremely uneducated when you use an adjective as a noun.
Oh, I'm sorry, let me not use the majority of the western and southern-Americas' dialect commonly found in their media and be all politically correct for you. Would you rather me type out illegal immigrants, undocumented non-citizens, or displaced foreign travelers? It's a goddam word, it's very common, hell, there are professional organizations that help illegal immigrants that refer tot hem as such. I hate people who pick at wording that isn't even offensive because it's 'not a word' simply because it's not official or politically correct. It's beating around the bush and only further complicates a larger issue. O yea guys lets not call african americans black anymore either, k? No adjectives [editline]21st January 2011[/editline]
So what you are suggesting is that America basically considers Mexico to be apart of the United States without actually getting any control over territory or government, simply because apparently it's America's fault Mexico is a shithole Am I correct?
Wat. No I said we made it more difficult for them to legally immigrate. How did you get that out of that statement?
Always sat really weird with me, my great grand parents worked damn hard to be able to get to America, and they worked really damn hard once they got here. From their stories I know it must be ever harder to get here legally now, and even harder to find work with all the regulations we have now that we didn't have back then. Still, I'd like them to come legally.
But it would be racist for America to annex Mexico, so what's the point of trying to fix their shitty economy, when America's Economy is in the shitter and they have nothing to gain from it?
How is it racist to annex Mexico? Who wants that? Who said that? And the whole point of my post was to show how we fucked their economy over in the first place- it's our fault, and now that we're suffering for it we just blame them more and complain about the little they're fucking us when we've fucked them worse since the 50s. I'd prefer to see the US shut up and hand over as much aid as viable to Mexico, but I've explained an alternate, slow, and ultimately mutually beneficial solution above, too, but it relies on US private corps and a little monetary sacrifice int eh short term.
No I said we made it more difficult for them to legally immigrate. How did you get that out of that statement?
Why does America have any obligation to lessen the requirements to legally immigrate? Thousands of Africans have no problem immigrating to America legally, and their countries are ten times as shitty as Mexico
I live in California. My school is 4/5 mexican and they all get F's and speak spanish and pick fights for no reason i hate mexico [editline]20th January 2011[/editline] oh and they constantly talk about how much more amazing mexicans and mexico is when its actually a large diarhea dump to the south of america
I dont see this. I see him making good jokes to take away the srsness of the forum. He is never being right out hostile either. Your opinion of him probably has something to do if you politically agree with him or not though.
I mostly agree with him politically but he is a total asshole who seems to love shooting people's opinions down with his own, sometimes ignorant opinions. You can't use the excuse of "I'm just joking/beeing the funny man" when it comes to being a dick.
Why does America have any obligation to lessen the requirements to legally immigrate? Thousands of Africans have no problem immigrating to America legally, and their countries are ten times as shitty as Mexico
Maybe because WE FUCKED THEM FOR 50 YEARS AND MADE THEIR LIVES HELL? You don't intentionally burn down someone's house and then kick them in the balls for wanting to sleep in your shed so they at least have some shelter. Thousands of Africans do- they go through the same shit Mexicans do and everyone else for that matter. There is a very large population of illegal Africans in the US, by the way, it's not all peachy keen legal for them, either. And Chinese for that matter. Regardless, Africans and everyone else in the world is still subjected to the long waits and high specifications to enter the nation while we continuously boast about how wonderful America is and put the world down for not being America. We try to shove our cocks down their throats and then beat them when they accept it. Yea, we have it easier to immigrate to, but for the most part, I don't see why we deny basic human rights to people because they happened to be born on the wrong side of a line drawn in the sand 200 years ago. Easing immigration requirements and times is the least we can do to help people. I'm not saying open borders free for everyone, I'm saying make it at least fucking possible for poor farmer Joe in Tropico or Tungeria to get here if he has a clean record.
and why is this? This is how the other countries work.
Which ones? Because my understanding is that the US is the only country in the world to automatically guarantee citizenship to anybody born within it's borders... [editline]20th January 2011[/editline]
Also, I don't see why the U.S. should have to solve Mexico's problems. Our immigration system isn't even that harsh compared to many other countries. Why should we have to change it just because Mexico is having problems?
Mexico is building a wall on their southern border to stem the flow of illegal immigrants from central and south america...irony, much?

They give citizenship automatically to anyone who simply puts $70k in a Canadian bank for 3 months and you can simply take out a loan and pay it back on the 91st day if you can afford 3 months of interests
Children of illegal immigrants? You mean Americans? Okay other Americans, I want you to get this through your STUPID FUCKING SKULLS so you can stop being a fucking EMBARRASSMENT. Children born in the United States are American citizens. Period. They aren't illegal immigrants because we are supposed to be more than barbarians. We are supposed to understand that it isn't the fault of children that they were born here to illegal immigrants. While the American dream isn't real and you are socially restricted to the extreme, we don't fuck you over legally just because of your parents. Get the fuck out of my country you fucking cowardly pricks. The heavens forbid that you spend a dollar on another human being. Assholes. Do some research. Actual illegal immigrants put far more into the economy than they take out. Again, illegal immigrants, they lack the legal documentation to take money from the system. However they work jobs WHICH PAY INTO THE SYSTEM AUTOMATICALLY. When they get their check, it has been pre-taxed. They don't even get a tax return. Again, for those of you which are slow, illegal immigrants pay taxes and get almost nothing in return. They likely contribute more than you do.
You single handedly just showed every single xenophobe in this thread.
Because they're illegal, that's why I care.
Fucking pathetic. You seek to punish children for the actions of their parents.

My ancestors stood in line at Ellis Island, had to show they had a usable skill to provide the country, and fill out miles of paperwork to become an American citizen. Now you just have to dodge a couple guys in a truck in the middle of the desert. Much less one for that reason or without suitable collateral.

If your only reason why illegals are bad people because they didnt have to fight bears with there hands tide in order to get in then you should really hate yourself because you get to be a citizen and you didnt have to do a thing.
It is nearly impossible to get a 70k personal loan. Much less one for that reason or without suitable collateral.
Not in Canada apparently, considering that's how a majority of Mennonite Russians in Canada acquired their citizenship, and the fact there's nothing stating the money has to actually come from outside of canada [editline]20th January 2011[/editline] Here I found it
Investor Category The Investor category is designed for the high net worth businessperson who wishes to invest in a larger business venture but is prepared to rely on others to oversee his investment. The Investor category allows for an investment by a businessperson who possesses a net worth of approximately $500,000 USD and makes a substantial investment in an approved project. While the minimum investment period is five years, the minimum investment amount is approximately $250,000 USD The actual out-of-pocket investment may be reduced to $70,000 USD by using available financing options. An Investor applicant does not need to live in the province in which he makes his investment. Nor does he need to become actively involved in the management of the business venture to be issued an unconditional Permanent Resident Visa. This avoids any problems associated with "terms and conditions".
Basically if you can get $70,000, you get instant residency in Canada
Not in Canada apparently, considering that's how a majority of Mennonite Russians in Canada acquired their citizenship,
I don't buy it.
I don't buy it.
What, you don't think Mennonite Russians exist?
What, you don't think Mennonite Russians exist?
That they gained residency through personal bank loans of 70k.
Which ones? Because my understanding is that the US is the only country in the world to automatically guarantee citizenship to anybody born within it's borders...
Canada does
That they gained residency through personal bank loans of 70k.
well This Canadian told me this is how they did it Anyway it still stands all you have to do is simply acquire 70 Americano Dollars and you're in be it via a bank loan or personal savings, nothing is preventing you from taking it out once the 90 day period that is required is over
I really cant find a proper way to respond to something like this that makes no real point.
You are 7 different kinds of dumb, I swear.
you're a conservative
You are 7 different kinds of dumb, I swear.
Give a real reason instead then. Its not my fault if I don't get swayed by bad arguments.
The problem is your broken system that makes it nearly impossible to immigrate legally and your war on drugs that turns Mexico into a violent hell-hole that everyone wants to get away from.
I agree with the first half but the US is not causing all the drug related violence in Mexico. It's not like these vicious people in Mexico who you hear about just shooting down random people would turn all nice and happy because the US let up a little.
If it's so hard to get a green card for America, why don't they go to Canada then? If it was like that, we'd be flooded. We're already swamped in immigrants(not a bad thing) but they all tell me it isn't easy at all to get in.
I live in California. You have some dumb mexicans at your school therefore what?
