If he really does stop working for them I hope their stock just tanks.

look for patches, I didn't see any.
I was actually interested in getting into the metal gear series because of all the good things Ive heared about the games and Kojima himself, but then a week later I find out he gets fired.

It's still worth getting into. One of the best stories in gaming.
It's a bit early for April Fools, isn't it?

AT LEAST METAL GEAR SOLID V WILL BE RELEASED PROPERLY

Can you get the MGS Legacy Collection on PS4 PSN? TPP was the main reason Im getting a PS4 later in the year and Id like to play 1-4 before I play 5
They should retroactively go back to phantompain and replace Kojimas cameo with the burning konami building.
I seem to recall years back (around MGS4 I think) that Kojima talked about how he'd wanted to resign and step down from it all on several occasions, but that each time he found he received so many death threats and abuse and threats against even family and friends, that he kind of felt like he was obliged to keep working on games?
Maybe I haven't got it right but I am sure I read an article / interview that touched on this. Ever since then I always felt bad for the guy, because that's like making games while someone has a gun to your head.
so it it true.? that he is leaving.?
kojima would probably go into movies before he retired forever
I don't think anybody will let him make a twenty hour movie.
I don't think anybody will let him make a twenty hour movie.
Sounds like a goldmine as long as you split that into sequels.
And suddenly the internet's trying to act like Kojima was instantly fired and Metal Gear Solid 5 will be censored or outright scuttled like Mega Man Legends 3
I really fucking hate the kneejerk first reactions to things in the gaming industry nowadays
How are they going to get rid of the Kojima productions logo though?
His name is kinda stuck forever with that series.

new ones wont have the logo.

They simply won't include it anymore. They even ripped it off the art and logos on the official sites. Notice how in the OP image it's there on the left but gone on the right. "Kojima Productions" is now just an unnamed part of Konami until their eventual dissolution.
What makes me mad is that they're even retroactively removing it from some of the older stuff, like the site material for Legacy Collection. You fuckers don't even print that game anymore, stop trampling on Kojima's name as much as you can.
well this was depressing news to wake up to
Crazy week... first Nintendo is moving towards mobile, yesterday Gabe said that no more HL and now Kojima is leaving Konami. Are we finally gonna have another crash?

During a soundcloud podcast interview with Geoff Keighley, Gabe basically said "those that ignore the stuff we've learned about social MP experiences and decide to make a retro HL sequel, that would be a bad move"
which sounds more like "those that ignore all the money we've made from hat simulators, making a game without a in-game store sounds like a bad decision"

By "Nintendo is moving towards mobile" you mean "Nintendo is opening a branch of mobile gaming to advertise their console games", right?
I am glad I know about this stuff now because I am less likely to buy/upgrade stuff. because this is just stupid.
Doesnt Konami own a fair portion of the arcade scene in Japan?
BEMANI is still fucking huge over in Japan, and they've recently been showing an interest in getting their PASELI credit system implemented in more stuff - hell, at JAEPO a month ago they were showcasing using PASELI to pay for pretty much anything, even cups of coffee.
That said, they killed a fan-run E-Amusement service a couple weeks back, which has pretty much paralyzed the entire rhythm gaming community outside Asia overnight. There's very faint signs that they might be preparing to roll out their own e-amusement to the world, but that's looking increasingly unlikely by the day.
Cue pictures of Kojima Productions developer talking about how Kojima said there was gonna be a vampire in the game and he thought it was just a joke.
[editline]19th March .
Your talking about MGS2/4.?
By the looks of it, yes. The Los Angeles Studio now has Konami at the start of it instead of Konami Productions LA.
Has me very concerned about MGO3 since, i have a bad feeling the head ups of Konami are saying to them "Here, westernize this to fuck" and turn it into another Call of Duty clone, which we all know doesnt fucking work.

Well not just Japan, but pretty much all over South East Asia.
For anyone not in the MGS General, I bring bad news: http://www.konami.jp/osirase/150320/
Basic translation: TPP is still on track for its planned release, and they are now hiring production staff for a new Metal Gear series.
God is dead.
countdown to "we want to bring this series to a larger audience" quote

So this is what its like to have a franchise you like go down the shitter.
I can only hope they hire someone that won't fuck the lore up or retcon the main series. Who knows maybe they'll still be good.
[sp]Doubt it though[/sp]
